:D One of mine is adding makeup to the game, lol. It's not totally out there but I think it's pretty far out for animal crossing.
:D Another one of mine is to have it be 3-tiered land again, but as it is an island I can't entirely see the possibility.
:D To send mail to your friends offline sounds entirely far-fetched to me but it's happened before!
:D The possibility of a pro-design hub where people can upload / download designs! Maybe they could sell them?
:D Actually long hair (+ long ponytails)
:D The possibility of choosing to (or not to) live in the same house as somebody who plays the game with you irl.
:D A friendship scale that we can't see at all but is indicated by the animals dialogue with us.
:D When a villager invites themselves over, the possibility for us to offer them tea and have a nice long chat with them (where we can interact as well with the limited decisions we have to choose from)
:D For US to be able to invite THEM over to our house/ their house/ the roost (including to KK's live performances)
:D More wallpapers + carpets
:D More cutesy lookin' animals like in this custom villager thread I made

How about you guys?

I want a car and a race track where you could race your villagers on weekends for prizes and upgrades to your car.

I'd like my own boat that I could drive out to sea, and have special deep sea diving spots where only certain marine life can be caught. And I'd like to see under water and have it look more realistic, with coral and reeds.

I can't think of anything else right now. ^_^

I'm so glad the probability of these ideas you guys are suggesting making it into New Horizons are close to none.

I happen to think the ideas are half awesome.
Yup. Some of them are good, and would need to be fleshed out to see how it could work. But some are terrible. I'm not going to point fingers. It's all in good faith. Nothing personal. I just like to read them. ;)

The return of the morning aerobics.

Part of me really wishes those to come back, but I doubt that this will be the case in NH, as they never brought it back in the following AC games after the GC title, which is sad because it was one of the funniest features ever.

Sending mail to friends without needing to visit their town and post it. Also, if this included drawings (even just black and white like splatoon 2) it would be even better!

I personally think that they will come back as the switch has another analog stick which is what the morning aerobics needs to play (you needed the c stick to play morning aerobics which the consoles lacked)

which is why WW, cf and nl didn’t feature it, and the 3DS doesn’t count with the c stick as it wasn’t part of the original system (can’t program a feature for something that didn’t exist at that point in time) Could they have programmed it to the buttons? Sure, but it wouldn’t have felt right.

I ain’t holding my breath though, but it would be nice to see it return.

I'd really love for the more obscure holidays to return. I don't think this is extremely unlikely to happen, but I just kinda feel like if Yay Day was gonna come back, it would have by now :( Anything to spice up the game and get me to log on daily is welcome (not saying I won't log on daily for the first year or so, but once everything has been done it can be hard sometimes to motivate myself).

Another thing is the return of villagers with snotty comments, being kinda mean to the player. I remember vividly being afraid of cranky personality types when I was in middle school playing Wild World, and I've always missed that feeling. But at this point I don't think it'll ever come back, probably the reason being for exactly what happened to me.

Deeper friendship levels is something I actually want. Something more unlikely to happen that I would enjoy would be friendship level cut scenes (that are also skip-able for those who don’t want to watch them), kind of like in stardew valley. All villagers have some kinda family history and information about them (number of siblings/aspirations etc). I think it would be cute for villagers to reveal more personal things about themselves to you in cut scenes as your friendship develops. For example, if you enter their house after reaching a certain level, they will have a cute little scene of them telling you certain stuff about their family. Or let’s say you take a photo using your nook-phone camera with the villager in the photo, they will ask if you remember that moment and show you the picture (kind of like letters, but I think photos would be cuter).

An even wilder wish would be more mini games within the actual island/town (and not a separate island like in new leaf). For example, if Sahara is in town, instead of only selling carpets you can play some kind of mini game that will give you a certain prize. If Celeste is visiting at night there could be a stargazing/constellations mini game. Each visiting character will have a different type of mini game or task that takes place on the island. I’d like something like this because I often get bored of the daily things to do in my town and I don’t like talking to special visitors just for the sake of obtaining an item by purchasing it or guessing a few easy questions. Also adding to this I do wish that special NPCs can be seen again visiting your island and interacting with your PWPs and outdoor furniture like the other villagers instead of just walking around. I also wish shop keepers, Nook and the twins can also be seen hanging out in the island after their work hours are over!

Hm, good point, I forgot about the fact that you needed the other analog stick, as it was years ago where I played the GC title the last time. Well, then I hope they didn't forgot that the Morning Aerobics were a thing and bring them back in some way.

I want it to be how it was in Wild World where you could get a villager to change their wallpaper and flooring, by mailing it to them.

REALLY hoping/wishing villager house exteriors are customizable. If a villagers house exterior is a dump, no matter how much I want the villager in my town/island, I'll kick them out. (aesthetics matter).

Reptiles. (Snakes, Lizards etc.)
I want them in the game as part of the encyclopedia, and their own section in the Museum.

Huge sunflowers. I want those!

An online trading post that allows players to buy/sell/trade items without having to physically visit other islands/towns.

Being able to see under the water when diving.

Being able to design our own housing exteriors and being able to change the colour of the exteriors with a colour wheel.

I wish we could have animations tailored to specific items. Some items just lie flat on the floor/table and you just tap the air around it to get it to do something or make a noise. Maybe they can have an option, like holding the A button, to have a more interactive experience with an item, instead of vigorously tapping A to play a cello on its stand...

I just thought of something I've wanted since I first saw it in the Dream Suite.

Luna's smoking gyroid!

That thing rocks!
I hope it's an item in New Horizons. I've seen people ask for this all over the place. :)

In Happy Home Designer, they added quite a few things like this when interacting with certain furniture!
Hopefully it transfers over or we get new ones. :)

I want more crossovers with other nintendo things that don't require amiibo cards and such. Granted, if they continue using amiibo cards, I'll still be all over that, but still.

Think the Pocket Camp events where doing certain tasks earns you experience to meet new characters or earn new items.

I agree with everything everyone has said so far.

Personally, I'd love to be able to rotate furniture 45 degrees, instead of just 90 degrees. Getting to place things diagonally would really spice up the decorating process for our island.

A lot of these ideas don't sound too wild - most of them should've been implemented by now.

Hopefully Horizons will have everything the previous installments had plus more, but I'm having some doubts that'll be the case.

I second this. While playing New Leaf, I sometimes wish you could rotate items 45 degrees, as it would have fit much better into the room and the general look of it. Especially since you can now placing items outside your house in NH, having more freedom in terms of rotating items would be really nice and helpful in the design.
