So I got streetpassed with nine villagers, and I got a move in.

It's Tabby. And I was pleased. No, thrilled.

Seriously. I was happy about it. I love cats, and everyone here has complained about her so much she'd become a pity dreamy. Probably has something to do with me always having sympathy for the underdog. I'd been half hoping she'd turn up in my campsite, and now I have her I plan to keep her forever.

And I am probably the only person here who feels this way. Somebody here once said they'd reset if she moved in. Come on, don't make me feel so alone. Surely somebody else here has something that makes them as weird. I read one person who thought it was hilarious when a villager landed in the middle of their perfect apple orchard, and that's the closest I remember.

While I don't personally plan on getting her, I think Tabby is majorly adorable. I like her a lot better than some of the popular cats (I won't say exactly who though since I don't want to make anyone feel too bad).

Some villagers who I absolutely adore but people seem to dislike are:

Moose the mouse

Jitters the bird

Alice the koala (especially Alice!!!!! she's so cute what the heck)

All of the monkeys

Most of the ducks

I think Katt is really awesome, though she hasn't lived with me. I mentioned this before but I think she is based on the Cathy comic: c19b68fdf96472e269f2dc34f3c7b2b9.jpg
I used to read that comic in the sunday papers.

I also am really into Beardo, the hipster blue bear with a bald spot, and feel happy when he sends me affectionate letters to the extent that I feel kind of guilty about it because I have a real partner... (though nobody sends me letters that are as hilarious or cute as the ones my smug and lazy villagers send!)...

At one point in the past, when Beardo left, I spent a long time making my town themed around him and made a lighthouse memorial for him before I got him back. I didn't know that I could convince him to stay by talking to him a ton. That would have a saved a lot of energy.

Anyway, it was a surprise because I thought he was rather unappealing at first. It snuck up on me. Now I think he is hilarious and adorable. Sorry if everyone is sick of me talking about Beardo. Definitely an unpopular taste.

Definitely agree on Tabby and Moose! I used to have Tabby in my WW town, and she was so sweet- always talking about wanting to be my sister and stuff x3 Moose was a starting villager in my current town, and I've come to love him a lot ^u^ He is such a big old sweetheart! He's always giving me gifts and saying cute stuff that makes me smile ^u^ I'm never letting my little secret agent buddy leave X3

Oh my god Tabby! she moved into my town recently as well and she is so interesting to the point that she is possibly my favourite villager at the moment. Something about the fact she is a peppy villager makes her design amazing.

I've also had Moose in my town and at first I didn't like his design but after a while I started really liking him which is strange because I usually can't stand the jock villagers. I think personally I prefer some of the more "ugly" villagers because they have more interesting designs when compared to some of really popular ones (for example a particular boring white squirrel).

I prefer ugly villagers over cute ones. Even though Animal Crossing is all about cute things and relaxation, there aren't many cute villagers that I find to be... well, cute. There are some that I do like, such as Rod, Erik, Gala, Margie and Molly, but mostly everything else just strikes me as bland looking.

With ugly villagers though, they tend to stick inside my head a lot more for how strangely endearing they are. I've seen people say that the series would be better without them, but I find that to be silly. If Nintendo were to remove these ugly villagers, then the series would actually be less successful. It's a good idea for Nintendo to make some that aren't cute because it helps them attract a wider audience of people who want to play the series more. Having just cute ones would make it uninteresting.

On a related note, I also find a lot of the more unpopular personalities to be interesting. I love jock villagers and smug villagers, but I really don't care for normal villagers.

I agree and I think that having diverse looking villagers makes the game better. I do find the popular villagers really cute, but hope to have more diverse ones in the future. I like the goat villagers a lot.

Tiffany and Naomi are two of my favorites and they're t5. Tiffany also gets some shaming and disgust. Also having a town consisting of a majority of snooties will be interesting. xD

Oh wow, I can't believe I forgot about Beardo!!! I love this sweet bear too. I had him as my first smug but I wasn't really that into Animal Crossing yet and he moved away before I got a chance to meet him, but after being gone for almost a year, he's there almost every day in my Main Street as an old visitor, and I've really gotten to love him.

And I didn't know other people made memorials for their villagers too!! I put up a bench where Moose's house used to be, and now there are a lot of pretty flowers and a persimmon tree growing there too.

Yeah! Nice to hear about your memorial for Moose! <3

I'm too aesthetic to be dealing with bad looking villagers that look ugly in my opinion. But I wouldn't reset or anything, I'd probably wait it out until they moved. There are about 7 "bad" looking ones in my town rn so I'm waiting it out.

Love Tabby <3

Also Hans... he is an absolute cutie!

Bertha, Bubbles, Biff & Rocco are always called ugly and I don't understand why, I understand why people hate & think Hippeux is ugly because of his colour scheme & brown hair which makes him look unattractive for most people, however I don't understand that hate for the other 4, they are just so cute. Hippeux looks like he has a turd on his head, tbh.

Im going to go through some villagers that are unpopular & hated on.

Phil: I understand this one if it happens to have something to do with his eyes, because I have to admit they do look weird, but that's what I find is so unique about him, he is also based on a pheasant which are birds that have very unique feathers, espically the males which Phil of course is, he also looks like Falco from Star Fox.

All of the Anteaters: In my opinion their all cute, but people dislike their little noses. :(

I didn't care what people said about her, I got her in my all cat town and I loved her along with Katt. Those two may not look cute but their unique character design makes them that much more special!

I really like Daisy, even though she isn't liked as much. I also like all of the bunnies, (some more, some less) regardless of which tier. Doc is my 3rd fave bunny. I also like Spork, who was my starting lazy in one town and grew on me

Al is one of my favorite villager, even though people say he's "ugly". That's not my opinion, I think he's adorable and one of the best lazy villager. I also love Biff, who's not really loved by most people. :/

I actually love Tabby also! When I had her as a random move-in on my wild world game years ago, I thought she was absolutely horrendous. But honestly looks aren't everything because after I got to know her, turned out I loved her. I think her mix and match looks are what makes her look very quirky and makes her suit the peppy personality very well.

Villagers I adore but are unpopular are:
Bella, she's a rocker chick mouse and it appears that most people on the forum have a dislike for mouse villagers so that's probably a factor in why she's unpopular here. I love her concept and everything rocker chick so that's why i've probably always liked her. I also like mouse villagers so that's another reason.

Joey, although he's gaining a lot more popularity now and I see him on more dreamie lists and in looking for threads than I have in previous months which i'm really happy about. He's finally getting the popularity he deserves! he appears to be a baby duck which is quite unique tbh as most of the ducks just have one colour scheme, whereas he has a diaper - or plated underbelly. Sure he has thick eyebrows but he has such a derpy face and it's adorable! He also says the funniest things so that's why I love him so much.

I also love Katt, who my brother and sister call ugly all the time. I don't care though, since as long as I like her that's all that matters. Personally she's not ugly to me and I think her uchi personality suits her better than most uchi's for example Fuchsia who seems way too girly whereas Katt comes off as that girl who's not afraid to get her hands dirty.

Also to the previous commenter Alice was actually one of my favourites in wild world - and still is one of my favourites. I think she was the second villager who I got a picture from in-game. I've always loved her design too and I can't understand why she isn't more popular. There's nothing really ugly about her if i'm honest. That's all the villagers I can think of at the moment though. Idk if i'm trying to be a hipster but sometimes popularity can ruin villagers for me, maybe that's because I like my town to feel more unique to me and when I feel like everybody else has that villager I begin to find them quite plain..? maybe that's just me

Only reason I dislike Phil is because he reminds me of somebody I went to school with, he practically looks like that person if they were in animal crossing so for that reason i'm a bit creeped out by him. Also due to the fact that person wasn't very nice to me so that's also a factor. But now that you mention it he does look like Falco from star fox.

Aside from villager preference I don't like paths and qr codes in towns. I much prefer just the regular grass. I also don't really like forest towns where everything is overgrown or the usual pink cherry blossom towns. I also dislike Gracie so much in AC that I usually don't upgrade to the Emporium.

For villagers though I do like some of the "ugly" villagers a lot (Rasher for one). I definitely agree about preferring towns where there's some diversity to the villagers.

the good thing about having dreamies that are overlooked is that you can usually get them for free :')

graham is my all-time favorite villager, and i always feel sad whenever someone says that they hate him. he's so cute ;0;
