I haven't seen the movie yet, I'm actually going to see it tonight, if you did see how was it?

I haven't watched it but I personally don't think I'll like it. It doesn't really look funny in my opinion and I don't like the idea of recreating classic things.

I could be wrong though, appearances could be deceiving and it could turn out to be really good. :)

I see your point I have the same problem too :(

Im huge fan of old movies, but i came to the conclusion that if i was gonna have a chance of enjoying this movie i had to forget everything i knew about the old movies and just come in as if i had never seen it before. So when i go and see it thats what im gonna do.

Plus i find lot of the Women in the movie funny as hell so i think they will be just fine, as long as people dont try to compare it to the old movies and just take it as what it is a fresh stand alone take on a franchise we know and love.

i haven't watched it and don't think i'm goong to, but i'm enjoying watching the bunch of crapbutts being super offended that it's a full female cast instead of full male lmao

I haven't watched it and i'm not really interested but it doesn't look terrible or anything but everyone seems to be uninterested so i guess it probably isn't that good

I'm not a fan of the first Ghostbusters movie in the first place but the trailer for the new movie seemed bad on an entirely new level. The type of humor they were going for was so bad and so exploitative of what's popular with the braindead. They might as well be spewing stale memes.

I'm pretty sure the problem is not the fact that the cast is female but the fact that the cast is unfunny and trying to sell the movie by having female characters. People would be fine with an all-female cast if they were funny and weren't just flat female comedy stereotypes. I dunno about you but I'm rather offended for being represented as ****ty comedy stereotypes.

Anyway have yet to see a person diss the movie for the gender of the cast and not the bad humor and lack of character they have.

My partner plans to take me to see this. The trailer wasn't really my thing, but neither neither were the original trailers for the first movies.. I don't much like that kind of humour, though can look past it if it has that something special that makes a movie better than the sum of it's parts.. Which the first movie had, despite it's B to C grade plot and screenplay. Production values and talent were A+ grade, but those alone can never carry a movie. Something "clicked" with that first movie in spite of all the many reasons it shouldn't have worked.

Whether or not this new movie has a special something of it's own or not, I don't know yet. Either way, the howls of outrage will continue. I disagree with the idea that people would be fine with it if only it didn't seem so bad, with such terrible stereotypes. Some people would be okay, but the howlers would still be howling; just changing their tune slightly to "well sure it's great, but why did they have to do Ghostbusters? They could have made their own movie from scratch and not traded on the original Ghostbusters..."

Business is business, and the movie business is especially shallow. Movies that create controversy and generate publicity just at the mere idea of existing are *far* more likely to be made than literally ANY other movie idea going. Duh. The more howling goes on here that lacks substance (so, almost all of it that I've seen - an excellent chance to cull my Facebook friends list down)? The more backing these "controversial" projects will get.

I'm pretty meh on Ghostbusters overall, though I do love all the Lego released so far, and we have them on display along with our Lego Tardis and Lego Movie sets. We're getting the new Ecto set regardless of how good - or not - the movie is!

Planning to see this tonight too. So far I've heard mixed things and I haven't actually seen the original Ghostbusters so I really don't know what to expect

I thought it was really weird that they decided to call it "Lady Ghostbusters"...

i want to watch it, but the trailer shows a bunch of fart jokes that i don't find funny, and apparently it isn't that good. but i'll watch it anyways for the experience.

I heard it was good from a couple of reviewers, which I think should say a lot about it considering comedies are generally considered awful by most reviewers.

That being said, I still won't be seeing it because Ghostbusters has never interested me.

It's okay. It's obviously not as good as the original, but it's not as terrible as the Internet might want you to think it is.

I'd say it's a little worse, or maybe just as bad as Ghostbusters II.

The difference here is that the style of comedy is completely different. It's a 2016 comedy. Filled with cross talk, fart jokes, and slapstick. It's a Paul Feig movie! But, it's not as good as Bridesmaids or Spy.

The original will forever be an amazing comedy because of the way it handles the dry and subtle humor (aside from the ghost blowie).

The cast is great, but the material they're working with really isn't. Especially Chris Hemsworth!

Also all of the cameos from the original cast were forced and totally sucked.

Well, just like every other live-action film sequels. I'm sure it's gonna suck. And what I don't like is that the four are women, not men.
