So I came across another forum topic about ACNL and people's daily routines. Some were laid back, run around, and TTing with no care to consequences, while others were a crazy strict obsessive routine from dawn to dusk. I'm basically seeing how people get the most enjoyment out their games without feeling like you've lost out on certain things from particular gaming behaviors. So enlighten this inquiring mind.

My routine is different every day. I'm so happy to not have to water; in CF I had an obsessive routine because I had a town full of hybrids that all needed watering. Now that's not a problem I do different stuff -- usually for a couple days at a time. Right now I'm working on my house and cleaning things up.

My routine.. kinda changes every day. Mostly I go around and see if there's weeding, watering, or digging that needs to happen. Then I spend a lot of time shopping.. trying to complete catalog and earn more badges.

My routine is pretty consistent. First I sell any bugs I might have caught the night I before, then I scan the town for cracks to dig up. Next I go to Main Street and pay off my loan and start going through the shops one by one. After I've gotten my fossils assessed at the Museum, I take the ones that can't be donated and put them on the flea market at Retail. After that I hit the rocks in town for bells and gems, water my hybrids, rearrange a few flowers, talk to villagers, and I'm just about done. The rest of the day I use for inviting guests or visiting other towns and/or the island. This whole routine can take about an hour.

My routine is always pretty much the same.
First I water all my flowers/hybrids, dig up fossils. Take them to the museum to get assessed by Blathers. Then I go and see what T.I.Y has to offer as well as the Able Sisters and Kicks. I write letters to my villagers and sometimes add the stuff I brought as presents.
After I have done that I rearrange my house then visit my villagers and complete favours.
When I don't need to do anything else I head to the island and catch some bugs to either pay of my PWP's or add it to my account.

My routine:

1)I look at the mailbox if there is anything.
1a)I read the mail and I usually just toss them.
2)I talk to my villagers and do any requests they may need.
3)I check all my shops to see if there is anything good.
4)Check for a project I may do.
4a)If there is a good project, I will do so.
5)Check my town tree.
6)This time onward, I socialize with my friends and see if they want to hang out.

My routine has been pretty consistent lately. Talk to villagers to see if any of them ping so I can make sure they don't move, then I go to T&T Emporium to buy landscaping tools to work on my town. Then I go on and find places to plant 'em.

From there, it varies.

I have a fairly strict morning routine, but that's about it. XD

I wake up around 7am, water all my plants and weed, check out finished PwP's, check planted bushes and/or trees, check my mail, check lost and found, see who the visitor for the day is, then go back to sleep. After that, I wake up a few hours later and go about the day talking to villagers and checking shops. XD Simple little routine to keep my sleep schedule over the summer for when I start back at college for fall quarter. x_x

I can only usually play in the evenings after work which sucks a bit, but my routine is usually water my flowers (although, it has recently come to my attention that I might not have to as I have the beautiful town ordinance. If anyone could tell me, I'd be most grateful) and scan around for dig spots at the same time, then I take any fossils to be assessed, check the shops, deposit bells/pay loans etc. then sell any fossils I couldn't donate and anything else I collected. Then I usually bash rocks, fish, catch bugs, chat to villagers, check for visitors and all that jazz. I'm currently looking to develop my town a bit more so I'm adding some paths and rearranging and stuff.

This is correct. I haven't watered mine since late June. :)

Mine's laid back, I guess...

I usually play late morning/early afternoon. My house in the south west corner of the map and the only building not on the outskirts of the map is the caf?, so I walk around clockwise hitting rocks / digging up fossils / talking to villagers / etc. :) After that I work on landscaping for a little while.

Wow these are all great! I am thinking about switching out of my bell ordinance into beautiful ordinance because I have a fair amount of hybrids.

My routine is pretty consistent. Most days, I'm up between 6:00 and 6:30 AM. I go around town watering flowers, digging fossils/pitfalls/gyroids (if it rained), hitting rocks, checking the bushes/trees I planted the day before to make sure they didn't end up in dead spots, and taking my fossils to Blathers to check. Right now, it takes me a good half an hour to water everything, but as I replace flowers with bushes along my paths, I'm hoping that will ease up.

Once that's done, I head into The Roost for a coffee, check the Lost and Found, and then wait for Re-Tail to open up. Because I'm at work by then (shh! don't tell!), I just pop quickly in to see Reese, sell off my excess fossils/ore/what-have-you, then wait until 10:00 when the shops open. I clean out Leif's shop, check to see what the Nooklings have, stop into Able Sisters' and Kicks'.

I generally have a chance to plant my two bushes, then I stash everything in my locker and head to the island for the day. Gotta keep my tan, you know. ;)

Once I get home, I come back to town, check in on the villagers, make payments toward any ongoing PWPs, plant my tree, do favors, etc. I go back to the island once dark has fallen to farm bugs and maybe go on a few tours for medals, if there's anything for sale that I'd really like.

I come home, sell off my bugs/fish to Reese, maybe buy/order something from the Nooklings, check around town again (still trying to nab a scorpion and tarantula for the museum), attend any event that might be happening - like the fireworks - then go into my house, change into my pajamas, and go to sleep.

Exciting, no? ;)

Aww Imbri, I love that you put your pj's on and go to sleep at the end of the day :3 Also, I like your sneaky playing at work. If I could get away with it, I totally would :p And, thanks to Tina, I can now amend my daily routine to negate watering. w00t!

I tend to get on and look for any cracks in the ground- I buried a pitfall in a corner so I never have to deal with them again. Once I have all four fossils I go to Main Street and get them assessed. Then I look through all the shops, run to Re-Tail to sell my fossils (the only thing I don't donate right now- idk, I just don't get into the fossil exhibit like the fish/big exhibits) and store anything I've bought at the shops in my house. Then I run around and talk to villagers/see if any of them ping me. Get coffee, work at cafe, check campsite and plaza, etc. Usually I go to the island but my trips are short unless the hide and seek tour is offered or there's something I want in the cabana. I usually shut the game off then, and then later that night (ALWAYS at night- adds to the experience) I stumble on random dream towns or towns I've seen on tumblr. Lately I've been landscaping like crazy, though, so my routine has kind of dissolved, but I generally do what I feel like doing at the time after my basic daily things.

I lean more toward the obsessive side. My days start the exact same way:

1: Check the mail.
2: Water the flowers in a specific order. I have a ton of them, so I want to make sure I get them all. I also get rid of any disorganized flowers. (I'd never trust to set up Beautiful Town. I'm really anal about my flowers even though I don't intentionally breed hybrids.)
3: Dig up fossils, pitfalls, and bamboo shoots.
4: Take Fossils to Blathers for appraisal.
5: Sell Fossils to Re-Tail and check the shops.
6: Head to the cafe for a coffee and work.
7: Take Shrunk a piece of fruit and check my HHA score/Nook's Homes.

After I get done with all that, then it's whatever I feel like doing for the day.

At the end of the day, though, I always hop in the bed. Since I'm at home all summer, I can leave the game running because it's always plugged in.

I always play to water my flowers. I think if I were to enact the beautiful town act I wouldn't feel the urge to play.

I get my mail, walk around town looking for dig spots and pulling out flowers that have sprung up overnite. I hit the rocks as I come to them and talk to villagers as I see them or go into their houses if there is smoke coming out of the chimney. I see what is up at the Police Station and what the special item is at Re-tail. See what Re-tail is selling then I go to the buliten board before heading to Main Street. Have Blathers assess the fossils (have completed the fossil musuem and all the mini models) so I can put some of them up at the Flea Market. Go thru all the stores and then head for the dock. I've got a TBT friend that is looking for some Cabana furniture, so I go to the island to see if their missing pieces are there. I might do some mini games to make up for the medals I used to buy the Cabana furniture. Then I got back home and if I have some time then, I do some fishing, bug catching or just walk around town talking to villager, doing their requests and rearranging flowers. I do all of my harvesting of fruit on the same day, so every 3 days that gets thrown it too. If I have time in the evening, I'll go back to the island and do some bug hunting.

Normally I go on, check my mail (usually ignoring the presents if there are any) then take a jaunt over to Retail and chat with whoever I see. Then I go up to the top half of my town, shake a tree, and take the fruit to Shrunk. Then I go shopping! And after that just basically whatever I feel like, though I like to go to the island to see if there are any tours I'm good at in the lineup for the day. And lately I've been fishing too, trying to fill up my catalogue. XD
