Awesome! Super idea! I never even thought of doing something like this!
I have a bunch of water eggs on my town beach paths but it keeps me from getting a perfect rating and then no Jacobs Ladders ... I think I will move them to my Island!

I don't think you can bring them over to the island. That would rock though.

I've been trying to landscape my island. I'm waiting for silver axe to show up so I can try and get stump patterns. I know it's not 100% on fruit trees, but I'm hoping it increases the odds. Or if you can even get a stump pattern on the island I don't know. I can't find info about that. My island only has 1 regular tree on it, because my cousin came over when she first got the game, and she started chopping down trees to maximize beetle hunting, not realizing the island doesn't reset. Since it's my only one I don't want to chop it down.
You can bring hybrids over to the island, just wear them when you go over, and then plant them there.

I have an extra silver axe (actually 2) in a listing right now ... I will give you one as a gift if you like?

Right! Never thought of that! bummer! Oh we'll ... I still like the idea of landscaping my Island! Thanks to this great thread I am totally inspired! LOL

Wow, I really can't believe that barely anybody has done anything with their island... I guess people spend too much time on their town, haha.

I cut down a few banana trees but other than that I have left everything as is.

No thanks! I have a few, I just need one to show up at the island again because I already took them out of my basket in town, lol.

I haven't done too much, just added a couple fruit trees so I could carry the maximum amount of fruit without having to go nto extra slots. I might actually chop down the frontmost trees because there's always something flighty there and i never see it until I have already spooked it.

I wont be doing anything to my island anytime soon for the sake of beetle-hunting, but once Ive payed off all my house loans, gotten all the expensive items I want (Gracie Stuff and rare-unobtainables that Ill have to buy trough re-tail here) Ill probably actualy landscape it too with bushes and everything!
