Your first anime + recommendations for me?

my first anime is pokemon tbh, and my recommendation is another, a lot of people didn't like it because it's very gory but i thought it was interesting.

i love anime to death. there's a lot out there that are good. my first anime was pokemon of course.

i started really getting into anime when i was 12-13. so i guess technically the first anime that i watched all the way through was free! which i now despise because of how boring it was. after that it was dangan ronpa.

alright SO i have watched a hand full of anime and here's my favorites that i would suggest

dangan ronpa - an anime about 15 kids who get locked up in a school and are forced to kill each other (it gets way more indebt and in the next week the next two animes are airing so perfect timing) it's really good, it's a murder/mystery series. i would suggest it all the way, it's my all time favorite.

tokyo ghoul - an anime about this boy called kaneki ken (my bae) who gets turned into a ghoul (someone who has the craving to eat other people). this is such a good show, the manga is worth a read too. it is my second favorite, and it's honestly so good, you just have to watch it.

owari no seraph (or seraph of the end) - an anime about humans who live in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires have taken over the world along with other monsters, and about the main character yuu and how he wants to kill all the vampires because they killed his family. this show is so good it's unreal.

noragami - an anime about a girl who is able to see gods. these gods wield weapons which are actually just dead souls that can transform into a weapon and out of a weapon when their master wants them to. season 1 isn't as good as season 2. but it is SO worth it to watch for season 2.

mirai nikki (or future diary) - such a good show, it's kind of like the hunger games and dangan ronpa combined. 12 people have to kill each other and each one of them has a diary that tells them information. i don't want to go into it too much because i don't want to spoil it but it's a really popular anime and for a good reason.

puella magi madoka magica - definitely a strange title but a great show. it's about magical girls but not what you'd expect at all, and has major plot twists around every corner.

(this post is long i love anime im sorry)

I love attack on titan

English dubs for Pokemon, Sailor Moon, and Tokyo Mew Mew aside, the first anime I watched in Japanese (with subs ofc) was Mermaid Melody I think.

I highly recommend Akatsuki no Yona! Set in a "historical" type of setting, it has a really strong female protagonist who makes tremendous (and kind of realistic) growth over time, good-looking guys, as well as a whole other load of characters that are beautifully developed over time (although I think my favorite character growth hasn't aired yet, it's manga-only right now).

Haikyuu's also pretty great if you want to feel the rush of excitement and energy from characters totally into what they love ! I hated playing and watching sports before I got into sports anime in general, but this series helped me learn to appreciate a lot of things.
