Smash Bros Your expectations for 5mash.

Melee at least doesn't have completely bull**** item and stage design that seems meant to just **** YOU OVER. In fact, even with it having problems still, it was probably the highest high point for the franchise so far in that regard.

It got noticeably worse in Brawl, and just continued even more onto Sm4sh with no signs of improving. Which yeah, in regular Smash I can just set up rules to not deal with this. But when I actively feel like I'm fighting against the stage due to its hazards being far more bull****ty (Melee hazards meanwhile being either a) just a minor annoyance or b) very telegraphed, which is HOW THEY SHOULD BE), instead of the players, and there being a crapload more instakill items, plenty of which are absolute bull**** near guaranteed KOs against human players, and I feel its an issue worth addressing. I've generally been alright with whatever items and stages I got for past games, but this is the first game that I've actively WANTED to have the option to turn off certain items and stages, which in and of itself is a pretty huge ****up I'd say when the basic aspects of a game hinder my enjoyment of it.

Also, Sm4sh's single player is just kind of.... Really ****ing bad. Both due to reasons I mentioned above, and plenty of other things too. Probably the worst of any game yet imo. Yes, that's including Smash64.

I could go into other smaller issues I have too, but this alone covers the biggest aspects of it. Sakurai is a pretty alright guy with some neat ideas, but its just became more and more painfully obvious that he needs someone to keep his more bull****ty ideas in check.

I like smash 4, but some of these points are valid. I have the beetle and boss galaga turned off bc why are they in the game

There should also be an option to turn off stage bosses (if they happen to appear in smash 5) and hazards

There is. It's called the Omega stage. Although, the problem with Omega stages is that you can only use them in Smash battles. Not online, not in Classic, not in All-Star. Omega stages are a godsend, but it kinda defeats the purpose when you die to stupid crap on 75m or Pac-Land during Classic because it was the only stage you could choose.

Omega is just Final Destination, which gets boring to people because it's just the same stage. A little variety doesn't hurt, and there's plenty of good stages but are presumably ruined because of the stage hazards (I personally don't mind them but I can see why others do). Prime example is Wily's Castle.

Well, it gets rid of all the scrolling/hazards/bosses/etc. and I really doubt they'd bother making regular stages, Omega stages, and stages that are normal, but have no bosses/hazards. Having to fight on FD all the time for a fair fight was the worse. Make they'll make a toggle version in an update, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

You do realize it's almost exactly Final Destination just with a different look, right? That's the whole point of Omega, to not have to use Final Destination over and over, but it doesn't solve the issue of actual gameplay. People want a toggle switch so they can play with a variety of stages and platforms without having to deal with a luck/interfering factor (Ridley, Yellow Devil, Aristocrab, ect.). I personally don't mind them because I'm a fan of the whole craziness thing but if it means more variety than I'm all for it.

But according to you, Omega stages get boring. So like, what more do you want? Sakurai's not gonna stop with all the hazards/bosses/etc., so at least he was nice enough to throw us a bone here.

Just a switch to turn off stage hazards? It already exists. In All-Star mode stage bosses are off and won't appear. I don't see why you're against being able to turn some of these off. It'd mean more legal sages because there wouldn't be huge interferences, so I don't see why someone would rater play on the same stage with different visuals than actually different stages with different platforms and layouts.

I already suggested that, but again, I seriously doubt it's gonna happen with Omega stages being a thing. All-Star had a good idea with no hazards, but it doesn't carry over to Classic. Omega stages were a good idea, but they don't carry over to anything. It's pretty inconstant.

Yeah, but there's no harm in wanting them. Omega stages are really just for visual variety. They're Final Destination with slight changes to give let you be able to get a larger variety without having to constantly pick Final Destination. Only problem is, gameplay wise, they're mostly the same, which is why many people with a hazard trigger. I mean, I'm not sure they'll do it, but who knows. I'm just hoping for a a Custom Rules option for online with anybody in the sense that you can select the settings you want (ala regularly with friends) then you get matched up, like in Mario Kart 8. Timed is fun but I want those stocked matches!

Actually, now that I think about it, All-Star probably has no hazards because of sprite limitations, like in 8-player Smash. You fight at least 6+ people per stage, and I think the most the game can handle is 4, otherwise, the hazards and stuff disappears. So the 'toggling' might've been unintentional.
