No complaining about Animal Crossing New Leaf, this game is amazing! I have been playing it since July, and still loving it. But nothing is prefect, and there are those little things in games that do drive you nuts. So in this thread say what you wish was in Animal Crossing New Leaf, or should be in future Animal Crossing games.

One, I know many people hate the random plotting of villagers in-game. I wish as Mayor you could pick wherever you could place your villagers' houses. I understand as mayor first you get to pick where your house will be plotted, and so the villager gets the same treatment. But your the mayor, you have title to right? But you also got to consider the other players, them moving in, but if you just called them unexpected villagers moving in (meaning at the last second which is true, just starting up the game) that might work in story sense. I really think the mayor should pick spots in your town where villagers would place there houses, and the unexpected new player should pick wherever they want, because they are "unexpected". You know villagers' take there time moving in, days, telling Nook even, not players though lol. Sorry if that sounds confusing.

My second, I wish when you have a dream and you see a villager you once had, say from within the cycle of 16 of the past villagers you have had. When you talk to them, they would remember you and say something like how do you like this town, nice seeing you again, how are you. Like when you meet one of your past villagers from another town. I feel heartbroken sometimes when I see a past villagers I have had, that doesn't remember me in dreams, but my current villagers do.

I really wish that they'd bring back the NES games back from Population Growing. In an interview, they said they have no plans to release the NES games again, due to actual Virtual Console on the Wii and 3DS, but I think it's really dumb that they just don't put in some really popular NES/SNES/GBA games from the 3DS Virtual Console as furniture in your house, and the game checks if you have it purchased from the eShop and then puts it in your game.

I also wish we had a bigger town in the game, even though I think it may be that small because of hardware limitations. If they made it bigger, it would be so nice to have it as big as the Expert Fossil Hunting Tour town, because that town is so big. Maybe make a landscaping NPC or something to expand the town, make Town Plaza bigger for better events, move shops like Re-Tail around for a fee? Also, Nook's Homes should let you place a plot for future villagers to move into as a PWP or something, but it'd go to that PWP limit, so it has a drawback to have the exact placement.

Something I've never stopped missing is the ability to delete letters without reading them, and being able to select multiple letters to delete. Also the option to sell everything in your bag without having to select it. Never understood why these features were taken away. :/

A new feature that might be cool to have in future games would be the ability to like, lock your villagers so they don't move out if you don't play for a week. @@

  1. Preset Hat Design: Being able to make your own designs on caps, hats, top hats, newsboy caps, etc.
  2. Pants/Shorts/Skirts: Just like what you can do with shirts, the same applying for trousers.
  3. Selling Custom Clothes: It would be cool if you could make your custom clothes into an actual item with your own label that other people could buy and sell. I guess this would kill the QR Code. Or not. Either way, I think it could be interesting.
  4. House Plotting and Eviction: Obviously being able to choose where a house goes. As for the eviction, it wouldn't be so much about kicking them out as it would be giving them the option to leave. This would be good for time travelers and cyclers, saving their villagers from just leaving.
  5. PWP Top View Selection: I've made plenty mistakes of putting a PWP where I didn't want it to be, though it looked good from the angle it was at. A top view would help with accuracy.
  6. Spray Tan Booth: I have no problem with how Animal Crossing is, but I know there are many people who want to be able to choose their race. May as well have it implemented.

I didn't even know that feature existed, so useful. Sadly New Leaf is my only Animal Crossing game.

About locking, I don't think that feature would ever be possible, but it would be nice. I know there is a glitch you can use when a villager pings on you that they are moving, and you stop them on that day. Don't play for ages, pick the game and all your villagers will still be there. Just on the day you have loaded up the game again, someone will be thinking about moving in 5 days, so get ready for that ping.

I agree..... ;-;
I love those types of games and would love to see them again in Animal Crossing.

I agree with both of these but I don't think being able to choose your skin tone should be an unlockable service like you can do with hairstyles. You should be able to get it from the start, that could be hard to include in something like Rover asking you questions in a way that didn't sound awkward, but the feature should be there from the very beginning. White players get their skin tone right off the bat so everyone else should too.

I think better camera angles in general would be nice. As it is, it sort of sucks that you can't rotate around very easily when stuff is blocking your view (outdoors). They could use the arrows for that and let you rotate tools using a button (like X) similar to assigning your bike to that button in pokemon. Or maybe changing camera angles could be X + an arrow, something like that.

Other things I'd add:
- Patterns not sticking out if you put them on a turn or something.
- Having more control over who moves out. I like how the villagers who move in are random but when it comes to moving out, you should be able to have more control. A locking feature would be nice, as would being able to do something to make a villager move out more quickly (without TTing). I know some people like the challenge so they could make it challenging enough but easier and less random than it is right now.
- Being able to hold more patterns on you

I wish that there was a clear part for patterns. Like say you wanted to do a round stone, you could just do the stone part, and not have to make fake grass around it.
And I wish you could put patterns in doorways, and put items on top of patterns.

Me and my friend thought that in ACNL there could be a bow and arrow, probably sold at the island? idk what we said, it was a while back. At the island there could be archery minigames. So overall it could be a bit like a slingshot.

Also we thought of having a storage cupboard like in the second floor of the museum and in the train station in Re-Tail, so if it's nearly closing time and your house is far away, where all the stuff you want to sell is in there, you could just go to the storage cupboard and grab all the stuff you need.

More storage and pattern storage space would be great, also being able to place a villager's house before they moved in would fix so many problems. Also a Japanese keyboard for European consoles (and American of course).

Question. Do other character models get different hair color depending on the options you choose when chatting with Rover? Because I've pretty much went down the default road with choosing certain responses so that my characters could get a specific eye shape. So if there are subtle differences depending on the responses, then maybe race could apply somewhere along the way. So far nobody has been able to mention how to get down race when chatting with Rover because some people would complain about other peoples' ideas and not give out any actual input of their own so that we could compromise. My idea wasn't any better. Then people went with the tanning route at Shampoodle and some people were against it because they thought perhaps it would promote tanning, thus getting people to look like this woman in real life, which isn't healthy. I mentioned spray tanning when this discussion was brought up, and someone else also thought of the same idea a post after me and it seems to have gone well with what others thought.

being able to choose where they plot their house
more villagers lol
more storage space
and yes getting to choose your skin color. i'm pale af and wouldn't use it but i think its unfair that people of darker skin have wait for a tan.

I would like to have that randomly spawned sport ball that you could kick around in gc, because... Oh c'mon, why not? I would also like the town to be, say, 2x bigger than the usual new leaf town, because that way we could have more room for pwp, increased pwp limit, and more neighbors!

Get rid of the Q&A appearance selection and let us make our own characters. I think there should be an attic in your house with a telephone so you can call Rover about settings (like in ACCF) instead of having him ask you questions.

When you first start the game, you should step onto the train/bus/whatever (in first person view). The ticket inspector will come and ask for your ticket. As you hold it up, you can fill in data (your name, town name, location on map). Afterwards, your character will look outside at the window, but the reflection of your character is blank. So, you start filling in the features* for your character.

*There should be more facial features: blush, freckles, moles, etc. We should be able to place them wherever on the character's face. You can choose skin colour and the eyes you'll have and the eye colour.

As for hairstyles, there should be more of a variety; you can choose how long your character's hair is by using a slider and make it curly, straight, or wavy.

Once you're done customizing your character, you can then go to your new town.

1.You know how you can save patterns? What's the point of saving a pattern if it's just going to overwrite everything that had an old pattern on it when you take it out of storage?I wish they would make it so that doesn't happen.

2.The skin tone thing,I'm black but I don't really care what my skin looks like in this game.I'm pretty light skinned anyway but if they were to implement it just have the character look into a mirror or seeing their reflection in the train window at the beginning.

3.The ability to be able to view your town from all angles.Similar to how you can rotate your angle while inside a house.

4.Being able to easily evict villagers.

5.More storage space.

6. Being able to actually hold a conversation with your villagers similar to that of Cleverbot. They probably would never do that but it would be a nice feature and make your villagers feel more alive.

7.Have a grid show up when placing PWP.

8.A long hair option at Shampoodle.

9.Bigger town

10.More villagers,maybe 14 or 16.

I like the reflection idea for filling in your face features. That would creep me out a bit looking to the window and having a blank face but I suppose it's better than not knowing what kind of character you're going to get when you speak to Rover, based on your answers.

I think I'd mainly like the villagers to seem more like real people - so obviously more varied dialogue, more personalities... And also more intractability as well. I'd like it if villagers actually occasionally were 'going out' and stuff and walked around town holding hands x)

Also, I think it would be cute if there were like couples, or families of villagers living together. So there's not just one villager to a house, there could be like families with baby villagers ^.^ That's just me getting carried away though, I doubt that'd ever happen

I want harvest able bushes and the villagers line expanded with >300%

And additional, being able to delete letters in a bunch at once and not having to read them for it.

And having some kind of lock on the patterns on the ground, so they won't go off with a sneeze.

Furthermore the ability to turn the patterns, that would save so much pattern space!
