You know, I was always kind of curious; how bad is my map?

As with other animal crossings, I never really cared about resetting for my face, map or villagers.

But lately, after spending time in the NL board, I've been curious.

How bad is it really?

It's.. interesting xD If you like it then that's all that matters. for ME personally, I wouldn't be able to deal with how the rive is so windy. I town has (and really only needs) 2 bridges. if I add another bride it would be out of place and my river is pretty straight. Your retail is in an awesome spot though and the town hall isnt terrible. only 1 pond which is what *i* prefer. If I had to have it I think I could work with it but it definitely wouldnt be something Id choose.

I think your map is not bad. The way your river makes its way creates an illusion of an island :) And the town square's position behind town hall is cool, too :)

I like it, except that little sliver of land at the top.

yeah. wolfgangs house was there until he moved, so I placed some pwp's there so it was anti villagers. It's also an orchard now! Also, I'm not sure if I love it. It's just, I've had it so long that I'm so used to it.

I'd say it's decent. IDK the peninsula looks odd but I'd have to see it in game

Any time, Oath. :)

Don't let other people label your map as "bad"! I feel like we put so much pressure on ourselves looking at other parts of peoples towns, so much so that you can't really enjoy the game because people are bent on map-shape. It's not about the starting map, it's about what you do with it.

I don't like looking at the same map-style over and over. It's really boring.

Your map, however is not boring to me. Personally, I love the fact that you have a long, continuous beach with a little private area to the lower right. I haaate having my beaches separated. It seems so inefficient. The re-tail is right next to the train station, which is SUPER nice when you have a turnip spike and let people in to sell turnips. Your permanent PWP placement, (i.e. the cafe, police station, and campsite) look awesome. In my town the plaza MUST be close to the town hall, and you've got that.

I like it a lot. But you're not playing the game for me. Play ACNL with your map because it makes you happy.

I personally like everything but the peninsula bit! I, too, have a sliver of land above a river, and I think it's actually cool. Since nobody goes back there, you can have a secret hidden sitting area... I love it.
I think people are really weird and uppity about maps and stuff like that. If it works for you, it's a good map!

There's no such thing as a bad map, it's all down to personal preference. I actually quite like your map, I like how windy the river is, towns where the river is just straight can be kinda boring imo.

At first I was like O.O but then I thought about it... It's actually pretty cool. I like that you can run straight down and be able to cross. My second town map is awful. I just looked at it and it's kinda similar but yours is extended, lucky bugger ;-; I'm in the process of transferring villagers. Then I can reset.

It looks pretty cool to me. You got a private beach, yo.

I really like the initial map!
I like the location of town hall/tree and retail

Changes I would do if I had this map:
- would put the police station below or above the lake (if possible)
- would change bridge location
- campsite in top left stip
- plot/camp reset so all villagers are along the coast
- mayor and 2nd/3rd character houses in the center

That house in front of Re-Tail makes me cringe, every building is far away from each other, the campsite near the plaza makes me feel claustrophobic. Sorry, somebody's going lash out out me. Just my honest perspective on your map. I'd give it a 7.3/10
But those villager house placements are FANTASTIC.

The campsite works, and I actually really like where it's at. Right by the river, and right next to a hammock I set up. I guess I could've put it on the bit of land above the river, but wolfgang was occupying it at the time.

0/10 would not want

just kidding it looks like a damn good map

the smoothness of the river tho *__*
