You guys. I'm scared of the turantula

NO. ARACHNIDS ARE NOT CUTE. STOP. NO. JUST, NO.

Sometimes I decide to play with my characters life and walk around in areas I know they'll spawn in so I can catch one. I've already caught a few (my side character actually has one in her drawers but I refuse to donate it, as I want only my Mayor to donate everythin to the museum). But I still hate them, more so then the scorpion. It's the wandering sound they make that makes me freeze. I usually don't see them first I usually hear the noise before actually seeing it.

Don’t worry. Hearing them crawl gives me MAJOR anxiety. As I have a phobia of bugs crawling, bugs buzzing, or crawling into my ears or something- it’s always been an irrational fear of mine.. ;;

I totally agree. I tried to catch them and every waterfall and villager walking sounded like a tarantula. Another thing was that I was looking for house centipedes and both centipedes and house centipedes have the same walk as a tarantula or scorpion. :[

I really don’t like the noise... eeeeek. Just thinking about it is making me twitch. I hate it I hate it I hate ittt ;o;

I’ve always been afraid of things crawling in my ears or buzzing around me while I sleep, so I always sleep with a blanket over my ears. It’s been like that for years now... ;w;

I do get scared a little bit when it's already dark and some weird shadow pops up put of nowhere, walks directly in my direction, as I always forgot that those tarantulas exists, since they show up so rarely in my town. What's worse is when you try to catch them and you have to be sure that they don't attack you.

I?m not joking when I say that when I first came across one on my old animal crossing wild world game (I was about 8), my childhood went a whole lot darker. I put all my trust into this innocent and cute lil game, and then suddenly I was bitten by a tarantula and passed out, waking up infront of my house? Like.....? This was one of the first sinister moments of my life. I thought my game was possessed. My life changed that day it really did.

Anyone got tips for catching one in game? Its the last empty spot across all encyclopedias and I have been trying for over 2 years to catch one.

Basically don't run and have the net the next tool to pick. Just sneak up on it while it's hissing.

Walk slowly through your town and listen for the scurrying sound they make. Keep your net in your inventory so it won't sneak up on you and bite you. When you find one, get in a good position so you can see it clearly, pull out your net while you're facing it, creep up to it and swing. It helps if the tarantula sees you approaching because it will pause, giving you the perfect opportunity to catch it.

Would the optimal potion to be on top or beneath them? I always mess up my positioning and thats what usually gets me bitten

I think it depends on personal preference. I've found that when I'm below them, I sometimes lose sight of them during my approach or I don't space myself correctly before the swing and I end up missing. If I can get beside them, on either side, or just slightly above them that's when I do my best.

Me too. Anything suddenly crawling around me that quickly makes me totally nervous! Same applies to in-game creatures, it seems.

Definitely agree with you there, anything crawling in general makes me jump out of my skin lol.

Tarantula and scorpion both suck.
They both give me the heebie jeebies AND
I can't ever catch them before they make me pass out.
(The game says it's because of the bite/sting but it's obviously from the immense F E A R.)

I think tarantulas are really cute! I had to take care of my friend’s tarantula once when he was away for vacation which made me less afraid of them. Bugs that flutter on the other hand... I really hate butterflies and moths and I avoid them even in the game. I still need to catch the tarantula in one of my towns but I have too many flowers that it’s hard to notice them before they scurry away. A few times they appeared right in front of my house when I first log on, which always gave me a shock. I think the scorpion is way scarier looking than the tarantula though.

Mexican Red Knee or Chilean Rose?

Holding one of those is on my bucket list!
