Yesterday, I finally got Merengue. For the third time. I was time traveling today to get a villager in boxes for someone, and I walked past Merengue's house.

... Which was gone.
Again.
I was so mad that I just shut off my 3DS and said, "Nope". >_<
It makes me angry because of the huge freakin' TBT price I paid. It's not easy to get her. Urgh, I really need to stop time traveling. I just don't like waiting for villagers to leave. ._.

Not only that, but I've also lost Mint and Fauna in the last 2 days. 2 days. Animal Crossing is a blessing and a curse. Mostly a curse, but a blessing too.

Aww im so sorry!

I lost countless amounts of villagers from tting

Gala
Elmer
Peanut
Filbert
Lucky
Caroline
Rosie

Animal crossing just loses brains sometimes..

If you're consistently facing these problems then the solution is to (a) stop time travelling altogether; or (b) find a safer way of doing it. Obviously what you're doing now isn't the best way to go about it.

I've found this to be a safe and efficient method:

  • The day after a new villager moves in, TT to the next day using your mayor. Save the game.
  • Fast forward a year into the future and create a new character. Check to see who is gone. If you wanted to keep that villager for any reason (you like them / you want to trade them), then exit without saving, put the date back by one year, and then load up your mayor. Go talk to that villager and give them the appropriate response.
  • If you wanted to trade them, time travel forward to the date they gave you.
  • If you asked them to stay, then start again from the top.

I'm sorry you lost her again :(, if she shows up in my cycle town again I'll PM you. I always give villagers away free so you won't have to pay again :3.

I'm sorry to hear that :c If I ever run across her, I'll contact you asap.

i'm sorry this happened :( another way to prevent accidental move outs is to talk to two different villagers until they mention something about rumors. once one does (with no name mentioned), check with another animal. If they mention rumors again and no name of a villager thinking of moving, then you're all good. i do this every day to ensure i don't lose any of my animals

If I ever get her, you can have her for free :)

Thank you all so much! If you need me to pay anything or need anything - anything - let me know x

Agh yes, I really need to get in the habit of TTing every one day or every two days, talk to the villagers i want to keep, and repeat. It's just so difficult because I get impatient haha D:

I've lost Merengue twice before, it hurts :(

It really does. D:

That's a bummer that you lost her! Yeah, if my town villagers weren't themed like a museum, I would time travel to cycle and give her to you. I probably would also want to get her for myself.
