There once was general with a heart of gold
Which showed in the stories he told
On the battlefield he gained respect and fame
He grew a beard as soon as he could to cover the scars on his face
He always erdged the men on to do the same
But on the eve of great battle
With the infantry in dream
The old general tossed in his sleve
He awoke form the night to tell what he had seen
He walked slowly out of his tent
All the men stood tall with the chests in the air
With the curage and the runnin of the fire in the air
It was a great mornin until the general told them to go home
"I have seen the others
and I have discovered thast this fight is not worth fighting.
I have seen thier mothers
and I will no other to go where I am going
tak a shower shine your shoes
you got no time to lose
you are young men you must be livin
Go now you are forgivin"
But the men stood fast
With the guns on thier shoulders not knowing what to do with the controdicting orders
The general said he would do his own duty but he would extend it no further
The men could go as the please
Not a man moved thier eyes stayed strait ahead
one by one the men stepped back and not a word was said
leaving the gernerals own voice echoing in his head
he then prepared to fight
"Go now you are forgivin
where I am going
no others shal follow
you are young and strong
You will live long
No go before there is nothing left to go too..."
