You are missing the point of the game if "5) You let what other people think determine what you want your town to be"

But you're also missing the point if:
"1) You keep resetting your town to get a "perfect" map

2) You spend days on end "plot resetting" to get your villagers in a perfect line or formation or whatever...ugh

3) You spend more time trying to get "dreamies" than you spend actually playing the game

4) Your catalog and museum are almost empty but your bank account is full

6) You've had the game for a year or more but you've never had a town for more than a few months"

Uh-huh.

Lol, I didn't notice that. Good point Brooke. xD

They are also all the same animal which takes loads of work, I guess she's just talking about herself then.

I adopted all of my dogs in just a few days when I first started my town a couple years ago - not because they were "dreamies" but because I love dogs and thought it would be cool to have an all dog town.

You'd have to be the luckiest AC player in history if you're saying you got those houses like that the first time around, 8+ times in a row.

Some people play the game differently than you, but that's just because they want to have the perfect town they want to have. But it's sorta unfortunate because each town has it's quirks and little mistakes and I think that's what makes each town special. But if it's not physically hurting you, let people play the game they want to.

So if people have dreamies and they think it would be cool to have their favourite villagers in their town (which sometimes takes a while), then they're missing the point of the game. But if you think it would be cool to have an all-dog town, then that's fine, because they're not "dreamies". -_-

Wow,I thought stuff like this only happened in Brewster's Cafe. The point of Animal Crossing or any video game for that matter is to have fun no matter how you play. That's it.

Yep. I spent a few hours a day for a few days a couple years ago to get an all dog town. Since then I've played the game naturally. Most of the wretched souls on here waste countless hours of their lives day after day trying to get "dreamies" and resetting their towns over and over because they are never satisfied. And btw, I really don't even know how to plot reset - I understand it involves making a new character or moving the clock to just before 6:00am or something like that. I would never delete one of my character houses and I have no patience for that nonsense.

What a trainwreck of a post.

There is no "right way" to play this game. It's entirely a sandbox, what you do after you load in is entirely up to you.

If no one had any goals, the game would be so freaking boring I don't even know how anyone would play it longer than two minutes, which is EXACTLY what happened to me when I bought the game in 2014 and had no idea about how to trade villagers or put down QR codes or reset villager houses to get a pattern I like. I stopped playing for more than a year and picked it back up after I learned about all the creative ways others play the game.

The game is so boring if you don't have goals and who are you to tell other people that their goals are stupid or boring or not worth their time?? LMAO

I don't think this is the right website for you then...

Don't even bother, they're just trolling. I'm just waiting for the mods to shut it down.

soooooo

let people play how they want????

No one on here does that - they all have the same villagers - If everyone played the way they want then why does every town have the same tier 1 villagers?? I can visit 10 dream towns in one night and see the same villagers over and over - does every single town need to have Marshall in it? People are not playing the way they want to, they are playing the way other people want them to. Since everyone else has Marshall, (or Merengue or Zucker or whatever is popular at the moment) then that is what they HAVE to have too. It's like everyone is a sheep following the herd. Doesn't anyone think for themselves?

Closing this here before it gets out of hand. People can play the game however they'd like, and creating a thread to bash a certain playstyle is completely unnecessary.

At the end of the day, it's Animal Crossing. Don't take it so seriously. ;)
