Yoshi's New Island

The purpose of this thread today is to talk about Yoshi's Freakin Island. A new installment of the series comes out in a little over a week, on March 14th on a Friday. Mark your calendars!

Who shall be getting this game? Please raise your hand. I'm pretty much required by law to get it launch day because Yoshi is rawesome.

Most importantly! What do you think of this game with the information we have been provided so far? I'm actually somewhat iffy on it. Yoshi kinda looks weird and I'm not sure why. And the music in the trailers is peculiar and kinda hurts the ears. I hope it's not actually used in the stages. Also the star that transformed Mario into Super Mario now only gives Yoshi the ability to dash and scale walls, which is disappointing because I liked playing as super baby Mario. I'm still gonna get it but I feel like it won't surpass the original. It might be better then the DS one. I found that one to have a small soundtrack plus it was too challenging at times which honestly made the game less fun for me.

I'm so excited for this, definitely getting it on release day..
Adored the SNES version as a little kid, and really loved the DS version and its difficulty also

I am definitely going to get Yoshi's New Island, it seems to be quite amazing and it looks good graphically too.

It looks like a pretty mediocre sequel so far, but I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt since I've just finished Bravely Default and need something else for when I'm away from home.

I am going to try to get it on launch day. I played the original and the GBA version so this will bring back old memories. Based on the trailers and what Trihex, Yoshi's Island speedrunner, said it probably won't be good or anywhere near the original, but for me it's going to be great just to play Yoshi's Island again.

Still don't know if I'm getting this one. The dis version was cute but I'm undecided on the 3ds version
