For the sake of UB... STILL ALIVE.

<small><small>This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here: HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.
Aperture Science
We do what we must
because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who are .
But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.
I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!
Now these points of data make a beautiful line.
And we're out of beta.
We're releasing on time.
So I'm GLaD. I got burned.
Think of all the things we learned
for the people who are still alive.
Go ahead and leave me.
I think I prefer to stay inside.
Maybe you'll find someone else to help you.
Maybe Black Mesa
THAT WAS A JOKE.
HAHA. FAT CHANCE.
Anyway, this cake is great.
It's so delicious and moist.
Look at me still talking
when there's Science to do.
When I look out there, it makes me GLaD I'm not you.
I've experiments to run.
There is research to be done.
On the people who are still alive.
And believe me I am still alive.
I'm doing Science and I'm still alive.
I feel FANTASTIC and I'm still alive.
While you're dying I'll be still alive.
And when you're I will be still alive.
STILL ALIVE

Whatever happened to welcoming UB?

:P

Anyway SN you can't say that about everyone. It's up to the student to go out and socialize if they're home schooled. Same things goes with all the rest. You can't assume that's the case. And there are more things out there than just school sports. It's called community sports. And you don't need to go to school to have friends. It's called, go outside.
I still doubt that a homeschooler would do many sports, it's too much of a hassle. And I doubt they have many "outside" friends.

Yeah, man, you prove my point rather well.

Just because you have the opportunity to do extra-curricular activities doesn't mean you do them. For example... debate.

I'm gonna be frank -- you're horrible at debating

:P You probably have a Debate activity/class at your school... are you taking advantage of it? Nope. I've never taken one... and yet... I can set up a decent argument and state my point, all while supporting it with evidence and facts. You're just stating your opinion and not leaving it open to debate. When you begin your argument with "I agree with anti-homeschoolers", it's only gonna go downhill from there, y'know what I mean?

FYI, I played baseball for 4 years, and tennis for 2 or 3. I'm not really a sports guy, and I wouldn't participate in any sports even if I was in public school.

Some of the most anti social people I have ever met were at my high school...which was a public school.

School doesn't make you who you are. You have to find yourself.

You are totally not getting the point. How about I go out for hockey (I hate hockey). All I'm trying to say is you do not have the interaction with other people like the rest of us do. Next year I'll try and do all 30 clubs and all 20 sports (max is 4 per year).

I already discussed why interaction on a mass level like that is not necessary.

You're basically saying that if I'm not interacting with thousands of people a day, I'm gonna fail in life.

Give me a break.

How dare you criticize something from Portal.

Homeschooling is only for hemophiliacs.
So people with blood disorders must be homeschooled?

Are you just saying random *CEN-2.0-SORD* or did you really use the wrong word?

Fail socially.
Give me a freakin' break, my man. Seriously.

All homeschoolers fail socially, do they? Hahaha... good luck with YOUR social development, buddy.

I do admit there are flaws in what I said but I meant it to apply over a general amount of people...

As far as family goes, I am of the persuasion that it should be a gentle touch. I might be saying this because I really like how my parents raised me. They would tell me how they felt about things but never forced me to do anything really. They let me become my own person, yet still passively coaxed me into some things. I have heard of some people who have parents who won't let them be in college unless they go to med school, I have heard of some who couldn't care less about their kids, I really think you need somewhere in between to be good, and being away from home is really different, it makes me glad I was weened off. This is another reason I really don't agree with homeschooling. If I had my mom breathing down my neck I would go crazy. As it is I know she has been watching my back from a distance which I think you need to. With such things as alcohol she said she knows it happens but that if I ever was out drinking just don't drive home, and call home about it, also said to keep in mind not to have too much. As it was I never needed that, but the fact that she addressed it openly carefully showing me how she felt about drinking without actually condemning it really helped me make better choices. It really is more about trust to me than always being present.
