Yet Another Flower Opinion Thread

So, there's been a lot of threads lately about favorite flowers, favorite hybrid colors, color combinations and omitted colors. Having read through them and getting to the point in my town where I should start paying personal attention to each of the villager houses, I'd like to know which flowers or flower colors you think pair best with certain villagers.

It doesn't have to be based on their houses, specifically. It could be their fur/feather/skin colors or perhaps their default clothing? Even their personality is a worthwhile excuse. Just give me your opinion!

I really like how orange and yellow Cosmos (Cosmoses? Cosmi?) look around Fauna's house.
Baabara has a single white rose in front of her house sign, and I really like how that looks, despite the drastic simplicity.
I'm trying to decide what black/white and/or perhaps blue flowers I want to put around Apollo's house.
While technically not a flower, I really wish I could line Ava's house with Sweet Olive bushes...

I don't know for the rest of my villagers.

While I doubt I'll ever have experience with the vast majority of villagers available in the game, I kinda want a catalogue of as many of them + the flowers you think they should have as this thread is willing to fill out. c:

Interesting question. I know it might be obvious, but Merengue's flower would be pink or white roses because she's based on cake and pasties. Roses would look like frosting roses on cakes. Also, the colors would match Merengue herself.

It's okay if you think the answer is obvious.
It probably won't be for me, since I've only experienced less than two dozen villagers in my time playing Animal Crossing. So I haven't met a lot of them.

Anyway, I like your reasonings for Merengue. Frosting roses, especially, sound really cute. c:

I surrounded Marshal's house with white pansies even though it doesn't fit my town theme because it was really the only flower that suited him/his house.

I think the combination of purple roses and purple tulips looks great around Bob's house. All the colors go well together because Bob has purple roof and walls and he has the green 'bush fence' or whatever which also goes well with purple.

hmm... this is an interesting question.
back in my old town of Glitter, I had a specific flower theme going on, mostly yellow and white. with occasional use of pink and purple. so I just put yellow or white cosmos in front of permanent residents' houses.
however, I'm definitely wanting to do things differently in Wakeport. not sure of exactly what it'll be for all the villagers, but I'll prolly keep it "simple" and use regular flowers for the most part... probably just match colors to the villagers. well, the best I can, anyway. so like, white flowers for Dotty and yellow flowers for Tammy... I guess orange cosmos would be nice for Clay. Alice, I'm not sure. yeah.

I surrounded Tom's house in blue roses (and lined them with blue hydrangea bushes) then two spaces in front of Tom's house (two spaces=path) A blue violet/blue rose pattern and some blue pansies in between the bushes. It looks pulled together and not just the typical blue roses everywhere.

I would think orange lillies and white carnations for Alice. Granted, the visual difference between roses and carnations is minor, but I tend to think of roses as more... elegant? Still, breeding White Carnations would be a pain, I guess...

I've recently started thinking White Violets and Black Tulips for Pashmina. Maybe a pink flower as well, if any of them are a soft enough pink. I haven't done much flower breeding, so it'll take some time for me to know what they all look like.

ahh i always coordinate what flowers i put by a villager's house by color schemes, and i'm always super fickle about it most of the time because i don't want to give different villagers the same flowers. ;w; personally i put orange pansies by fauna's house! i feel like the dark burnt orange of pansies in particular suit her color scheme well. resists urge to go off on a ramble on other villagers' flower choices...

Haha, but that's the point of the thread! Actually, I asked because I know a lot of people struggle with decisions like these, myself included. I was actually thinking that if I get up the motivation, Id make a list of all of the villagers + the various opinions that people think suit their houses. Sort of a lazyman's quick ref. to gardening.

ahh okay! i can just be a bit of a nervous nancy sometimes about rambling is all. ;w; for the rest of my villagers i gave:
beau: orange roses, after quite a bit of debate between whether switching his flowers with teddy or going out of my way to breed orange lilies, but i feel like oranges/yellows really suit him!
diana: pink lilies, which i think suit her to a t. eue the pink matches her colors well but its also shot through with white, though i gave her white carnations in my last town and they suit her nicely too. like she won't settle for less than the nicest flowers!
fang: white pansies, though i was tempted to give him white violets as well? either one goes well with the pale purples in his design. ;u;
marshal: white roses, though really any white flowers would do great? i like how the soft the roses look in this game and i like that for marshal. ;v;
colton: white lilies, though the same with marshal that any white flowers would look great! i bet some yellow flowers like cosmos would work nice as well. eue
sprinkle: white violets, she's the only villager where there just wasn't a suitable flower color to match, with her being so seafoam green. gold star for effort. \;w;/
phoebe: red pansies, though orange pansies would match nicely too i bet, but red pansies also tie in well with the inside of her house, like it's something she'd pick out herself i guess? ovo
teddy: orange tulips, again, after a lot of debating on if he or beau should get the roses. \ovo/
merengue: pink roses, which i chose partially because my pink carnations refuse to multiply, and also because icing roses is too good to pass up.. eue

I can see the reasoning for a lot of those flower choices. I find Sprinkle's potential interesting though. White Violets sound like a lovely choice, since lilac-purple and seafoam green go together beautifully, especially if accented by white. But she's another one where almost any white flower would work (except Cosmos, I think.) The White/Blue Pansies could be an interesting accent, if done sparsely. (Not with Violets, of course. Thinking of other combinations now...)

It's too bad that none of the blue flowers come in a more frost blue variant, rather than the sapphires and azures they are now.

i surrounded shari's house with yellow, pink, & white lilies. her house is yellow n pink, so the scheme is perfect!
she's also white with yellow hands n feet & pink cheeks. it looks really cute with the lilies !

i love the way pink lilies look around mint's house! i have flowers surrounding each of my villagers houses-
black roses for fang
blue violets for rudy
pink roses for molly
gold roses for francine
white roses for chrissy
yellow tulips for whitney
red lilies for poppy
pink lilies for mint
random flowers for wolfgang (he plotted in the middle of tons of flowers)
purple roses for beau

i like the way all of them look around their houses, i wasn't planning on using normal flowers because they were cheap, i just thought they fit better!

I often surround the publics works project suggested by certain villagers with the flowers I feel pertain to them - for the stone tablet Robin suggested, I have orange cosmos and blue roses :3
