I just bought a pre-owned copy of the game (happy home designer) and someone else's file is in use. how do I restart the file? or, how can I change my character's name & appearance?

start up the game, wait for the 3ds logo to disappear. before the ac:hhd title menu appears, press a+b+x+y and hold them! a message will come up and ask if you want to delete

You won't be able to design DLC villagers/challenges if they already have been expired. But if you really feel about this, then do it. You can get the items if you trade amiibo cards with another player's amiibo card with DLC/Challenge items stored inside the amiibo card's house. (I think, I dunno)
that's ok, i'm not bothered since it's not my progress or file. and my name isn't amie either lol!
haha! yeah i think the only thing you've missed is the october challenge. be sure to do this months before it closes, as soon as you get the HHN. hope the reset worked!
