I didn't miss villagers getting sick. I hated buying medicine for sick villagers until they feel better, especially in WW where it takes them several days to recover. I'm the mayor, not a caretaker. At least in NH, you only have to give medicine to your sick villagers once for them to feel better.

I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT THIS! It was such a cute feature and was another one of those like.... things that made New Leaf feel realistic! Its a cute neighborly thing to do, I think they removed it in the Welcome Amiibo update for some reason

I'm sure someone mentioned it in this thread somewhere, but it was removed because there would be some sort of bug with that happening. Something about a villager getting sick right when they plan on moving out and maybe they become stuck "in boxes" or stuck being ill or something. They first introduced villagers getting ill back in Doubutsu no Mori e+ on the Gamecube, but man, they last a lot longer being ill in that version than the newer games. Like, they really get sick. I was beginning to think it was bugged too and that they were stuck like that, but no, they just take a lot longer to recover in that one.
