I know that there was a thread about this game a ways back, but I don't want to necro-post it so I decided to make another thread. : ) I recently beat this masterpiece of a game and currently doing stuff after you beat the game (not giving any spoilers). I can definitely say that this game truly is the best wii game made during the console's lifetime. The graphics, story, characters, etc. are absolutely amazing and beautiful (especially the scenery and soundtrack!). It's definitely a shame that the Wii version of this game is rare since it's such an amazing game. :/ Luckily, there's a 3DS Port now that is much more common and cheaper for those who never got the chance to play the Wii version.

How many of you have played this game or are planning on getting their hands on it? For those who played Xenoblade did you beat the game? If you did beat the game, what's your favorite part of the game (be sure to use spoilers since this game is so much fun for those who have never played when they don't have any spoilers)?

I haven't played it on the wii, nor will I get a New 3DS just to play it. However, I have watch Chuggaaconroy's LP of it, and it one of the Best LPs I've ever seen.

Oh, I see. I can understand completely about the new 3DS part. If you ever find a Wii copy at a Gamestop though, get it because it's like one of the rarest and best games to find there (not as rare as Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn though). It's worth every penny in the $70 price tag in my honest opinion. :)

Knowing that you have seen the LP of the game, what was your favorite part of it? :D

I picked up the New 3DS version a couple months ago before learning there even was a Wii version. I don't regret it though; I think I would enjoy it on the handheld more if I had played both. I've currently taken a couple week hiatus from the game so I don't burn out, but I plan on getting back to it soon. This is where I am and my team:

Shulk, Reyn, Sharla, Riki, Dunban, and Melia Antiqua all level 43 just got to Eryth Sea on top of the Bionis's head)

This game is so spectacularly fun I've even done every side quest possible up to the point in the story I'm at using a Xenoblade wikia. I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for a game like this. It isn't too hard or easy, and it's an enjoyable masterpiece that leaves you speechless at the end. I am really looking forward to Xenoblade X. Or, as Shulk would say, I'm really feeling it.

Probably the Red Pollen Orb line of sidequests. It was cool seeing how that mini plotline developed.

Nice! :D Even though I don't have a new 3DS, I went ahead and bought Xenoblade since I would rather have it now knowing that I'm getting a new 3DS later instead of getting a new 3DS and having a hard time finding the game later. lol

When it comes to the game itself, I just love how Xenoblade is a game that truly has freedom to it, but also has benchmarks you have to pass through to see more. I also love how there are challenges as early as the first area if you want to do something to make the game more interesting as you are exploring new areas. :) Xenoblade's story without a doubt is the crown jewel of it all since it continues to surprise you until the end.

When it comes to where you are, I can definitely tell you this:
You are about to hit one of the most exotic areas and some very intense story elements await you. I truly hope you enjoy the ride ahead! :) My biggest tip I can give you for this area is to explore the area thoroughly before progressing through the story past the first 2-3 things that happen there and be sure to do all the quests because most of the quests expire here.

Knowing that you use the Wikia, be sure to avoid spoilers. ;)

@Pokedude: I have never done that side quest before, but I plan on doing it in my current playthrough.

I got the game on release and played nonstop for a few months, but I'm on a semi-hiatus so yeah, hehehe..
Currently in the middle of the Central Factory with everyone at level 68. Clocked in at 83:23 hours because of the sidequests.. ;-;

I was thinking of picking up the Wii version since I'm not bothered about paying the ?50ish I usually see it for. Still cheaper than buying a new 3DS + the game.

One thing I'm unsure of though, does it need the Wii pro controller? I sort of assumed it does for some reason (something I've come across will have made me think this). I don't want to go out and buy a pro control if I don't really need one and can just get away with using a wiimote + nunchuck, I also don't want to buy the game go home and find out I can't play it because I don't have the right controller.

I don't look forward to the voice acting though. From what I've heard of it, the voice acting grates my nerves. If the game is good enough I can put up with it though.

Yeah, buying the Wii version is a much better deal than trying to get the New 3DS + the game unless you already have a New 3DS. Another plus about the Wii version is the graphics quality (the graphics quality especially improves using component on the Wii or hdmi on the Wii U). I personally bought the New 3DS port because I suspect the port is a 1-time print deal and I would rather not take the risk of missing out on it as a big fan of the game.

You do not need a Wii Pro Classic Controller to play Xenoblade, but I do highly recommend it though after playing through the game. It makes it easier to do multiple things at once while engaged in battle (it's extremely useful if you want to change attack/talent arts while moving to a more strategic position).

When it comes to the voice acting, the only potentially annoying parts of it are the combat ones. I personally got used to it after a while and pay more attention to the gameplay, story, scenery, and music instead. The story alone more than makes up for this small potential annoyance for some people.

@Yato: Nice! :D I can definitely tell you this about where you are:
You are about to hit some big surprises in the story, enjoy the ride! :D Before you leave the Central Factory to go to Agniratha, be sure you have 2 Angel Xs & 2 Black Styrenes from Central Factory and 2 Retro Diodes, 2 Azure Hollyhocks, & 2 Mossy Panels from Mechonis Field so you don't have to back-track in the middle of the story and to save you some big headaches if you want to restore Colony 6 to its former glory (also try to finish the Collectopedia in both areas as well for the extra goodies). When it comes to Agniratha, all I can tell you is this: be sure to keep all the collectibles you get there and collect as many as you can so you can restore Colony 6, finish certain side quests in the area, and to finish your Collectopedia for that area (if you want to know exactly which collectibles you will need for Colony 6 and how many of each, feel free to send me a PM if you want to avoid any potential spoilers while trying to figure it out for yourself).

Yea, I assumed it would be better suited to a controller. Just that buying one for Xenoblade (since I don't have one) starts to push the price high enough where it makes a new 3DS viable instead.

Unless I come across a cheap control or find the control+bundle version of the game.

Yeah, currently the only game(s) that are exclusive to the New 3DS XL is Xenoblade Chronicles anyway, but I got the New 3DS XL because

A. I didn't want to search for a Wii version forever

B. I already had a couple old 3DS's that I didn't use anymore and was able to trade those in along with other coupons and use my Gamestop Power Up Pro Card points that I had collected over 5 years on the system, so the system was practically free once all that stuff took money off of it.

C. There will probably be a lot more New 3DS XL Games in the future once it becomes more popular

Xenoblade Chronicles in its self, IMO, definitely makes the New 3DS XL worth it. Especially because of the faster processing power and the fact that it will be able to do Amiibo Support on it which is crucial to have.

Finding a classic controller pro for cheap is definitely possible if you use Amazon (forget eBay, it's usually overpriced there); you usually can get them for less than $25 a piece there. Another good place to look as well is to go to your local videogame store and see if you can find yourself a used controller that is in good condition (When buying used, always go for the best quality in terms of analog/button responsiveness and cosmetics in general. Just be sure to use a Lysol or Clorox wipe when you get it home to take care of any potential pathogens left by the previous owner).

If you want to get your hands on the game+controller bundle that was exclusively released to Europe, it will be practically impossible to find it except online since Nintendo produced it at limited quantities (& also thanks to the scalpers). It's definitely worth it though (if you are willing to pay $150+ for it) because you not only get a masterpiece of a game with it, you also get a cool box and a rare, limited edition red classic controller pro (this is currently the only way of getting a red classic controller pro from what I remember).

@Space: I definitely can agree as well that just Xenoblade makes buying the New 3DS worth it since it is probably the best games produced by Nintendo for a while (since Nintendo owns Monolithsoft now). I hopefully will be getting a New 3DS for Christmas since I have been wanting to upgrade for a while (especially since I want to finally put my amiibo to use xD).

Whenever I look on Amazon they're like ?40 :/ I keep holding out to see one in stores but they never have them in stock.
A store I know of has two controller bundle versions of Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii though for ?28, so I'm thinking of picking that up when I get paid.

I saw the bundle version of Xenoblaade pre-owned in a store once (within the past 12 months). It's actually the only version of the game I've ever seen. It was only around ?50/?60, but I knew nothing of the game at the time so I didn't know whether it was a rarer game that deserved the higher price or just the store overpricing things again.

If I knew what Xenoblade was at the time I probably would have got it. I only found out about it through Smash though.

Whoa, they cost that much? O_o Never believe the price shown on the search results, always click on the product you are looking for and then look at all the individual listings made for it (I have no idea how Amazon determines the prices shown on the search results). Hopefully, you will find it cheaper by doing that. ;)

I can relate to see something rare and passing it up only to find out later that it was super rare. :/ I once saw a Marth & Ike amiibo in a Gamestop before at the same time (before I started collecting Amiibo) and I still kick myself over it even though I got the amiibos now. lol

That is very cool that you learned of the series through Smash, hopefully Nintendo will keep Xenoblade 3D common and maybe be nice enough to print more Wii copies so that people can easily play the game after learning of it through Smash along with various sources. :)

What's your opinion on any of the Xenoblade characters joining as DLC or possibly being in the next Smash game with Shulk?

I'm talking about Reyn, Dunban, Riki, Melia Antiqua, Fiora, and possibly even Metal Face here. Among those options who would you like to see in it?

I can definitely see Reyn, Dunban, or Fiora, but the others probably should be left out because they are kind of spoilers of the game (
particularly the 7th party member [for those who have never played the game, but plan on playing it: do not try to figure out who the 7th is!]
).

I think it would be pretty cool if Metal Face were in next smash game they make. They'd have to downgrade him to the size of a character though and make him not OP and in line with the others. Reason not DLC for this Smash game is because he's already a boss in one of the stages
