So with all this space at the bottom of the map, a new villager comes and decides to plop his house RIGHT next to mine and destroys my blue ros? garden. Seriously wtf?
This is seriously so annoying I've been trying all day to get certain villagers out and in and both that have moved it today have moved couple steps away from my house.
I've been afraid of that exact thing happening :c so before anyone moves into my town I always move my flowers next to other buildings and public works to save them from getting crushed. Or, if you want to be more picky about where villagers place their houses, make a new character that day and see where the plot is. If you dont like the location turn the game off without saving. Then make another new character. That should reset the location.
ALWAYS before you start the game for the day on your mayor, start a new character to check for new villager plots. If someone is moving in keep remaking the char till you like the new villagers spot. Then get to the point you can save on the new char. THEN start as your mayor.
I'm keeping my town at a minimum of 9 villagers so I don't get any unexpected plots, and doing the reset trick whenever I have a new one invited in. Been doing this since my 7th villager and haven't lost a single flower. - which is pretty amazing considering there was only 2 sizeable gaps my last new villager could have gone without crushing anything and he squarely fitted in to one of them first try. =D
