Would you have someone design your island for you?

Yes, but not for that price.

I have a road block in my creative flow with everything in life, so I wouldn't mind to just have it done for me. One major problem I have is I both like and hate my town at the same time. I want to change it, but at the same time, I don't want to destroy what I've done. It doesn't help that the game auto saves.

Wait, so I could either buy this apparently rather hateful person's service to design my island... or I could literally purchase a second Switch, a second copy of the game and then coffees for all my friends?

edit: what also gets me is this service only matters if you care so much about appearance in a casual video game, but don't have the creativity (or effort) to try something out yourself. Designing is optional! You could totally just leave your island Wild World-style and it wouldn't matter!

No... I bought the game so that I could make and customize MY OWN ISLAND (not mad just emphasizing lol), so I don't see the point of letting someone design it for you when you yourself can do it anyways, like that's the whole point of the game, to make it your own and do it the way you want to do it... Like I know not all are of equally talented on designing and stuff (I'm bad at it myself lol), and it can be frustrating at times when you can't materialize what you visualize your island would look like, but still that's not a good enough excuse to pay for someone to design your island especially with that price tag (HOOOOLLLLYYY who actually bites that kind of price???)... Don't be discouraged, just do your best and have fun, don't let others' islands frustrate you but instead, let it inspire you to make your island just as good or even better than theirs!

Another 'let's shame someone' thread? Come on...

Hmm, maybe there's a difference in culture here? Like, how we grew up learning to treat people, and whether or not it should be in the context of their actions or words toward us? I suppose a fair number of people here feel hurt, invalidated or attacked by this person's views and so feel the right response is to publicly express their disgust of said person. The op's topic was strictly related to the question asked, though, so I understand your point.

Another factor to be considered is the fact we've kind of run out of original things to discuss on this board, so people understandably jump on anything new or different. The topic of the thread itself - the question - is valid imo. I don't think people were trying to shame the person outright (at first) but only to point out the existence of a pricey island designer service they offer. Idk, what do you think?

I think that pretty much everyone in the community knows who they are, and what they've done, I don't see why we need to keep bringing it up all the time.

Part of me wonders if this type of "I'll pay someone to play my game for me so I can show off on social media" thinking would have been around without the quarantine happening and boosting Animal Crossing's popularity.

With that price, it's a no from me mamas(even if it's for free).šŸ˜‚
And considering who the person is that's selling that, a triple whammy no. I see no issue if other people want to though. I understand how frustrating it can be decorating your town. I used to watch that person on YouTube thinking they were so nice helping people with their towns, not knowing it costed that much money.
That price is a huge scam dawg.

Is it old news to you? I suppose it is to many here. It was new news to me, and somewhat interesting subject matter in any case. Granted, it's news that doesn't impact my life in any significant way and I could've lived just fine never knowing it or responding to it, but then I live under a rock in general lol. You gotta be careful when you make statements about "everyone"

For me, in this forum, old news is the rant thread. I lose brain cells after reading enough posts about the same 5 problems. I try to stay out of it, except when I have something to whine about I haven't seen anyone else whine about lol

Might as well start paying people to breathe for them while they're at it.

I have my own idea of what is appealing that contrasts with nearly every super-designed island I have ever seen, so I would get no benefit out of this. I wouldn't want a town with too many random custom paths covering every bit of grass and random items cluttered everywhere. It just doesn't work for me. My island is pretty simple, and I like it that way.

For me, I am not aware of a service like this existing up until today. (I also live under a rock.)

As a matter of fact, I welcome this kind of thing. I have exposures to different types of gaming. Some games will give you an option to pay for progression. I am sure not all will like it. Some will even see it negatively. I don't think the thread starter is aiming to "shame" those players. But I find it more of like a sudden disbelief that an option like this does exist.

If we're talking about who I think we're talking about, being a bigot has consequences. Funny how those of us in minorities are expected to roll over and 'respect' the 'opinions' of those who vote people in power who literally take away our rights. Screw that.

If you're providing a service and you lose business for being a bigot, that's that. That's the 'free market', is it not?

I just want to also say that it goes against Nintendo's policy since that person is making money off of Nintendo's game so while I have no problem with people wanting their islands to be decorated by other's, you should not give money to these people.
