I want to get my weeding badge, but since I have the beautiful ordinance it's kind of hard. I also tried asking if I could pull weeds for other people, but I didn't have any luck. So for that reason, I plan on putting all my flowers away in storage and then turning the beautiful ordinance off. I then plan on time traveling a couple of years into the future so I can get a ton of weeds. My only concern is my villagers moving away... I have all ten of my dreamies, and I'm worried that by time traveling forward I'll lose a couple of them.

I've heard that if you decline a moving request and then time travel, no one will be able to move. I've never tried this before, so I don't know if it would really work. If I were to decline a moving request and immediately time travel 10 years into the future... Would all my villagers still be there?

I suggest not TTing, the safest bet is to see if anyone is asking for bells or something in return for someone to de-weed their town.

Don't do it by years. Do it by a couple days at a time, make sure no one you want to keep moves out, then another couple of days. Going by years is a huge risk that I don't think you'd want to take, if you want to keep who you have.

I wouldn't do it if you have all your dreamies. The beautiful ordinance gets removed the next day.
You can TT as far as you want to go after you stop a mover. No one will move when you arrive but one will want to move either thru a rumor or a ping. You'll need to talk to the villagers to get where were you. I jumped 3 months ahead in my extra town and got a rumor ping in 10 minutes.

I have a spare town that I grow weeds and perfect fruit for my other players. I usually TT one month a time, arrive check the count, remove the clovers that grow, check for premium/turnip prices and than save/quit. Repeat until I reach a year. Usually get 700 weeds. The spare town I have the villagers locked in and they can't move. All players are in tents and they never speak to the villagers.

I'm not so sure I'd risk it... however I just started up a new temporary cycling town and soon I should have weeds sprung up all over the place if you wanna visit for a little bit :)

I know from experience that if you deny a villager move request and then TT several months from that day, then no villagers will move out. I haven't tried anything over a year though, although I assume it's still safe. I have a town which I'm going to delete soon, so I may decide to do something crazy like that just to see if it is safe.

even declining a moving request first hand, won't stop them 100%. especially if you tt a few years in advance. it's too risky.

Yes, this works and has been proven many times before. I wouldn't recommend it only because doing 10 years in one jump would be ineffective in terms of weed growth. There's (I think) a maximum number of weeds you can get after large time jumps, so it would be more effective to do a month or a few months at a time.

Alternatively, if you have a lot of normal flowers you don't particularly care about, you can just let those wilt and then pull them, that counts towards the weeding badge too. I got my silver badge this way, although it was a hassle making sure all my hybrids got watered and collecting enough flowers from island tours to replace the ones I pulled, but it's doable! Edit: UNLESS you want to get the badge out of the way as quickly as possible lol. Then TTing (or visiting someone else's weed-infested town) would be the way to go.

o.o you just changed my life.

yes, declining a villager's request to move will make it safe to time travel as far into the future as you want. i dont know if its necessary to go that far, maybe try going a few months at a time?

Once you have denied a villager request to move the game won't generate another move request until you reopen it. So yes, you'd be safe to TT 10 years into the future. However I wouldn't TT that far in advance, I would probably only do a couple of months.

Also on the date that you do TT towards you probably will get another ping to move, so make sure to talk to all your villagers a few times!

If you jump 2 years or so, it'll give you around 100 weeds, if I'm not mistaken. You won't get much more if you travel 10 years. It's safe if you deny a moving request on the day you TT. But after you TT, talk with everyone to be on speaking terms. Someone will be wanting to move out, and they won't ping unless you speak to them one time after TTing!

If you want you can visit my other town and weed it ... I will jump a few months ahead so there will be a lot of weeds for you.
Let me know if you want to.
