Would I like Xenoblade 3D?

So, I'm not the biggest RPG fan I've played Skyrim and Dragon Age Inquisition and I wasn't the biggest fan. I just felt like they were to open and I never felt like I knew where to go or how to get there and I got confused fast and tried to pick them up again since but it never went through with me. Xenoblade looks a lot like these games, but I like the characters, music, and the game looks pretty, should I give it or a shot or spend my money elsewhere?

Keep in mind I am talking about the first Xenoblade, the port on the New 3DS and not Xenoblade X.

I would play the first one first so you could get use to the controls and the battle system.
Get the 3ds version then if you like that get the wii u version
