Would a space themed Animal Crossing game be a good idea?

One time a friend showed me this space game called Mass Effect. I thought the aliens were cool looking. I liked the jellyfish! I thought they were cute! I thought the spaceship looked cool but unfortunately I am not a huge fan of action games or science fiction.

Would an Animal Crossing with both animals and cool looking aliens

as well as flying and customizing your spaceship be fun?

Or are these ideas best for a game that is not in the Animal Crossing universe?

Do you think a space themed game with cartoon graphics and social element like Animal Crossing be a good idea?

I think this would conflict with Animal Crossing's aesthetic and alienate (ha) the fans of the series who like it for what it is. But, that's not to say the idea is bad. It just should be its own separate franchise. :)

I agree but how would you make space travel not boring?

Haha I think a better question is how would you make space travel boring? There are so many things to see in space.

Not at all. If you're talking about an Animal Crossing competitor just being set in space would be fine. It would lend itself to plenty of opportunities for customisation and unique interactions.

I mean, it's a nice idea, but I guess it wouldn't work so good in the Animal Crossing universe.
Maybe as a Spin-Off title, but I'm not sure.

I think it is an interesting idea, but that it should have nothing to do with Animal Crossing itself. One of the things I really like about Animal Crossing is that other than the talking animals, the world feels similar enough to our own. Having spaceships and aliens alongside villagers would most likely be incredibly awkward.

I actually think your idea could make an interesting game, but it should be a game that stands on its own, rather than part of an existing series. I would say it could perhaps work as a Spore spinoff, but unfortunately that game is owned by EA, and I don't trust that company to do anything right.

yes! i would love to play a game like this and be mayor of my own space colony

I agree it should be a separate series. There was a space station in in Mass Effect. Would you want this game idea to be set on a planet? Or on a space station with a spaceship and go to different planets with aliens and invite them to live on your space station?

Has anyone created a space game that is not aimed at hardcore sci fi fans?
