So on another thread I explained how Wisp could have been due to be the original town mayor.
So Wisp being alive with a physical body was probably on his way on the train and to your town to become the mayor. But on his way something happened that led him to pass away than he had no way of fixing the problem in such little time. Now dead, Wisp can no longer be a mayor in his current state so he somehow finds you and sets you up on a path that leads you to fall into this situation.
But I remembered that we all know that Wisp as been a ghost in the original Animal Crossing Gamecube. He was also a ghost long before that because when you find him at midnight he mentions that his "Master" will be angry with him if he doesn't catch all the spirits before sunrise comes. So just how long has Wisp been dead? How could he have been able to score the position to be the mayor of a town years later?
