Wishing mechanics/possible glitch?

Hey folks, bit of a conundrum here that Id like to know if anyone else is experiencing.

Last night my friend had shooting stars, and so I went and made some wishes. Logging in today, I’ve found that I didn’t get a single material after wishing around ~35 times.

Another friend that was also on the island got 18 star fragments and 2 large star fragments.

The only difference between us is that I achieved the final Nook Miles task of wishing 200 times on stars. That happened during my island’s last shooting star night about one week ago.

This is the first time I’ve gone wishing since achieving that reward, and given what happened with the balloon rewards that was eventually patched out, I’m wondering if anyone else has had this issue where they make a wish and don’t receive any fragments afterwards.

have you tried walking around your beach for a bit?

i have all the "wishes come true" achievements and had some people over for a meteor shower yesterday - and i keep finding star fragments on end. (they also seem to be more rare than what i usually get when i'm alone.)

ive gone wishing since getting that award and i got a few star fragments. though they didnt show up immediately- they started appearing after i had gone in/out of a few buildings after starting the game. have you been checking throughout the day? i hope it was just a glitch and they show up :/

I was doing my initial beach walk for recipes etc, so I’ll give what you guys have said a try - usually if I go on the beaches after booting up the game, I find that I get them on that first initial walk along...
