Wish they had brought back fossil models

Remember in New Leaf when you could bring all the parts of a fossil to Re-Tail and Cyrus would make you a miniature? I miss that. Doesn't seem to be much point to digging up fossils after you've donated all of them now.

Or having other villagere by your stuff at re-tail is another thing i miss
and megaphone. They really need to bring that back. I can never find Celeste on my island

I spent far longer than I care to admit searching for a T-rex pelvis so I could get a complete T-Rex model, because I had foolishly assumed it had just been carried over from New Leaf. You can imagine my frustration when I finally obtained one.

I do like that you can now place fossil sets outside in full-size, though. I don't recall if that was previously possible or not.

It was definitely not possible in NL.

Me too!!! It made digging up fossils more worthwhile after you completed the fossil portion of the museum.. But instead I just sell fossils un-assessed now.

I feel like it could have been pretty easy to include too, if they just shrunk down the assets they already have.

I didn't really used them in NL, so I'm not affected too much. I can understand they were fun and cool to have and they'd make nice decorations. I think I'm satisfied enough with the fossils that look unearthed (ammonite, myllokunmingia, juramaia, etc) because they're more versatile whether you use them indoor/outdoor or if you want to turn them at a different angle.

I was really surprised that the didn’t bring back fossil models. Would have been great since we can now put items outside. Still surprised they never let us get sea creature models.
