Snowdin Forest is the second region encountered by the protagonist after exiting the Ruins, coming before the town of Snowdin. It is a wintry forest, filled with canine members of the Royal Guard and some teen rebels from Snowdin. It is also where the protagonist first meets the two skeletal sentries, Sans and Papyrus. Snowdin Forest has several puzzles created by the two, all of which can be solved without too much effort. The Snowman can be found here, who will give the protagonist a Snowman Piece to take to the end of their journey. The Ball Game can be played here as well, which is a small minigame in which a large snowball (which decreases in size over time) can be pushed into a hole, similar to golf.

Snowdin Forest also has the door that leads to the Ruins; when dining with Sans in MTT Resort, he talks about how he communicates with Toriel through the door. The Mysterious Door can also be found in the forest.

This room consists of a piano that can be played with the [Z] or Enter key and the directional arrow keys. The solution to this puzzle can be found by giving the statue being rained on an umbrella. From there, the music box the statue is holding will begin to play the song, "Memory."

For the puzzle, only the first eight notes need to be played on the piano. The solution to this puzzle is: "Neutral [•], Up [↑], Right [→], Neutral [•], Down [↓], Right [→], Down [↓], and Right [→]".

However, the puzzle can still be completed by leaving out the 6th note, like so: "Neutral [•], Up [↑], Right [→], Neutral [•], Down [↓], Down [↓], and Right [→]". This note is in the background of the track, and is therefore difficult to hear, so the game accepts both. In Undertale 1.001, this solution is displayed visually above the statue if you stay next to it for a time while it plays.
