After New Horizons, I know a lot of people haven't played New Leaf in forever. I for one haven't touched my main town in over a year. That made me wonder how many people plan on returning some day, or who see no reason to go back.
Personally I think I'll start playing again some day, but that probably isn't any time soon. Right now I'm enjoying City Folk, and too many Animal Crossing games at once leads to me burning out.
I put maybe because I’m sure I’ll go back to it for a few minutes, but not consistently like I used to. It’s just easier and more exciting to check New Horizons now. I do love the hourly music and mini games in New Leaf, though.
I think I will, but I kind of want to get a fresh copy, Ill like to keep my old town preserved.
I genuinely think New Leaf is a better game than NH, though my opinion may change over time on this if they add in a bunch more NPCs and building upgrades.
They've done a good job so far in adding items to the game but I wish more of them were interactive like the Toy Day items.
The worst thing about going back to NF is definitely going to be the not being able to pick where villagers put their houses though...
I went back to NF a while ago and Wolfgang moved into the middle of my orchard.
I definitely plan to return to New Leaf in the future. I have four New Leaf towns, all with their own specific residents and themes. I don't repeat villagers across games, so there's definite appeal still there. Plus, there are aspects of New Leaf that I feel are superior, like room sizes, house exteriors, furniture sets, and more, so I don't feel that New Horizons entirely supplants New Leaf. They're two distinct experiences, and I see no reason to fully abandon New Leaf.
Possibly. I would like to replay through each of the older Animal Crossing titles for a week each at some point just to see how each game evolved and compares to one another and whatnot, though that probably isn't happening anytime soon, lol
I'm still playing New Leaf daily, but I don't have New Horizons. I picked up New Leaf late and there are still things in both of my towns that I'd like to accomplish before I retire them. I have one gold badge left to get in my main town and I'm still working on completing my second town as far as decorating and landscaping go (not going to try for all the badges again in that one...too much of a slog).
Once I've done everything I want to do in New Leaf, I'll probably put my towns away for awhile and revisit some of the older titles like Wild World or GameCube. But even then, there's always the chance that I'll come back to New Leaf years down the road for nostalgia's sake.
No, there's no reason to (for me) honestly. I can't stand looking at it now, the graphics are kind of an eyesore compared to NH. But I still look back on NL very fondly, it made university bearable (though it also caused me to procrastinate a lot lmao)
I tend to check my New Leaf town once a week or so. Especially more with the reprinting of the Sanrio cards because I’m not too attached to my New Leaf villagers so I can invite villagers to live in New Leaf that I almost invited to New Horizons but had to pick a different one. To be honest, I haven’t played New Horizons since the Sanrio cards came out again to invite Toby and before that I haven’t played in a month. I just feel burnt out and the same activities that intrigued me to check on my town every day (who has a thought bubble? who is camping? what’s in the stores?) just got boring after a while. To be fair, I did take breaks from New Leaf for a while too. I’ll probably pick up New Horizons again someday as well. But for now, I’m definitely still playing New Leaf.
considering the fact that i sold my copies of new leaf, i don’t see myself ever going back to it or at least, not any time soon. i’ve been thinking about maybe picking up a new copy of it one day but i’m happy with new horizons for now.
absolutely. i've actually been feeling extremely burnout with new horizons recently and playing acpg/acww instead. the simplicity and limits are really refreshing to me, it's been very fun. once i get tired of those two i already plan to revisit city folk and new leaf
i still play new leaf, i plan on getting another copy soon as i want to make another town as well. even after 8 years i never get tired of this game, it’s just my favourite. even now, i still haven’t finished designing my own town nor my brothers town (my brother left his town for me since he stopped playing many years ago) so i still have a lot of work to do, especially when it comes it trying to get the necessary PWP’s (that the villagers never want to suggest). i play it more than new horizons honestly, it’s just way more enjoyable to me, but that’s just my opinion as i even knew NL would stay my favourite game in the series even after the trailer for NH released. mind you, i still absolutely love NH, but can’t find myself playing it as much as NL. there’s just something about NL that always draws me back to it, it’s captivating and extremely fun. i just love it, and i plan on playing it for a long time to come!
at some point within the first few months of having NH I had a huge urge to reset so instead of doing that, i went ahead and reset my NL town.. and then very quickly gave up because it seemed so starkly different to what I'd become used to with NH lmao. when I get some more free time this summer I would absolutely love to pick it back up and get back into it but for now I'm trying to manage keeping my island afloat, plus there's a few other video games that I'm prioritising over it
i've tried going back and opening up the game a few times just to look at, and honestly i've gotten so used to NH that i can't make it more than a few minutes without closing NL when i try to look at it it looks too outdated for me unfortunately, and not even like... outdated in a fond way the way i look at ACGC's graphics not to mention i restarted my town a few years ago so i don't even have the nostalgia of my first town from 2013 to draw me back into the game
No I can't, it's too much of a downgrade and too limited and restrictive, building placements etc. Infact I don't think I'd be able to go back to any of the previous games, not being able to decorate outdoors.
I've been thinking about wanting to restart my New Horizons island, but I really know I'll regret it, so I'm thinking I might restart my second copy of New Leaf. I know I'll be let down by the lack of outdoor customization in New Leaf, but I'm hoping it will make me get over the feeling of wanting to restart my island. I've also been considering buying a second switch so I can have a second island, but I really don't need to be spending that $$, so maybe restarting New Leaf will hold me over until the Switch Pro comes out.
I may pop in just to relive the nostalgia of my old towns, but as for actually picking it up again on a regular basis, no. I’ve completely burnt out on everything in New Leaf so I don’t really have a reason I’m going back to it other than just a brief check in for old time’s sake.
Maybe!
I haven't played in so long, it would be fun to actually get a new game and try to make another town and see how it compares to NH. Unfortunetly the wi-fi on my 3DS is messed up and has a parental lock. I have no idea what the password is. I even tried contacting Nintendo over a year ago and never heard back.
