Will the fact that I'm a day ahead in my game affect Earth day?

So ever since I adopted Zucker, I've been worried to TT back to my current date (I'm just one day ahead in game) but with Earth day coming up, I'm wondering if this could potentially affect anything because obviously the actual Earth day date will be different for me then.
So I've been contemplating TT'ing back to my current day tomorrow but I'm just a bit worried.
Any input will be appreciated.

Before you play tomorrow, TT back a day. The game won’t recognise it as a new day :)

I thought TT'ing back is kind of seen as a new day in-game (like the shops will get re-stocked and stuff).
I haven't TT'd back in NH at all (didn't really intend to TT in the first place) but was just wondering.

Seconded. If you change the time back a day before you load up tomorrow it wont count as a new day and itll act as if the clock just moved forward a few hours.

The game doesnt register the new day until you load in.

It might. Nintendo is handling holiday events a bit different, so you'll need to be synced up to the current time with an internet connection for the game to download a 'flag' that will activate the holiday event.

Okay, gotcha.
I'll just change my clock then tomorrow before booting up my game.
Thanks!

So you mean to say that I won't receive any in-game updates from Nintendo unless my date and time are synced via the Internet?
I actually have my time set up a few hours earlier just because I tend to play more in the evening/nighttime.

I think as long as Zucker has completely moved in and he’s out and about, she should be fine...?

I did have a problem where I invited Bluebear from a campsite, time traveled backwards, and then experienced a glitch where Bluebear lived in the wrong villager’s house on the exterior (but otherwise, she works fine). I don’t know if Zucker has completely moved in yet, but I would only time travel one day FORWARD at a time until Zucker has completely moved in! Once he is moved in, I think it should be safe to time travel back to the current date. This is my experience, anyway!

There were some instances where they moved in okay and then a few days later the glitch happens.

Yes, indeed... there was recently a case where someone with Marshall was TT'ing months at a time and got the glitch all of a sudden and that was after several other villager move-ins
.
I guess I'll just change the system setting tomorrow before I boot up the game and hope for the best.

However; I still wonder if it needs to be synced up with the net in order for Earth Day to work since I'd really like for my game to remain a few hours behind just to give me more time to shop/catch rare butterflies, etc.

Could someone who has played Bunny day with the game un-synced confirm this for me, please?

I'm a constant time traveler. Never had any problems with bunny day or anything event-related. Still got recipes, eggs, and TTing to the actual event day still registered.

I didn't play with the game un-synced but I can tell you that you need to be synced with the internet in order to get the events. They specified that in the direct a while ago.

EDIT: Once you get the update you can TT though and you should still get the event.

I don't mean being offline - I meant whether my time and date have to be synced with Internet settings.
I know that I obviously have to be connected to the net to get the in-game update.

Okay, so the person above you just said I need to sync by date and time with the Internet to activate updates... I'm confused now. lol...

Nope, TTing backwards everything will be the same as the current day. Same shop stock and any construction projects will still be incomplete.

So let's say Earth Day is for 1 day only and is only on April 22nd, which is the day Earth Day falls on this year.

If the update comes out on the morning of April 22nd, and you are a day ahead (April 23rd) you won't get the event on YOUR April 22nd (which would be our April 21st, the update wouldn't be out yet).

So essentially if you don't TT back to the previous day there's a chance you can miss the entire event IF the event is one day only and if the event update comes out on the morning of the 22nd.

The safest way to tt back is to set your clock to the correct date then wait as long as it takes for the real time to pass the time you last saved in game at that point when you next play the game won’t think anything’s fishy

Well, I TT'd back in-game by one day (just synced in the current date and time with my Internet settings).
I actually had no idea that going back in time doesn't count as a new day at all in this game - that's very unlike New Leaf.
I suppose I didn't really get it before.
Makes me think all the more that this game doesn't intend you to TT at all.
I went back one day and everything is basically the same - my villagers still remember me talking and gifting them, there are no new Nook Miles achievements for the day or bottled recipe by the beach, Flick is still in my town, there's no new mail despite me ordering a few things.

Just thought I'd let everyone know as I'm not sure if everyone is aware of that.
I'm waiting for 5 a.m. for the clock to reset and I hope it will recognize it as a new day again. lol...
