Will starting a new town with date Jan 1st be a problem?

I do not want this to impede my being able to start up as Mayor, will it let me function normally or will Isabelle be outside. Is the 2nd better?

Isabel will be outside and you'll still get your zodiac animal. It's not a problem though since you can't start work on your Mayor permit until the next day. Only downside is that you can't get your watering can on the first day, if you do Isabel's advice thingy.
