Will our characters tan in the summer?

We used to tan in New Leaf, but I can't remember if we did in previous games. Anybody know if we will in NH?

I don't believe we can tan in this one since we can just choose our skin color at any time. It was such a nice surprise when it happened in NL. I thought I was going crazy at first.

I'm pretty sure this feature has been removed from the game since we can easily change our skin color whenever we like.

Ya, plus I don't think it would show up to well on players already darker skinned. I mean my avatar, Coco, is pretty dark. If she tanned it would be hardly noticeable.

As much as I would love to see her with some nice tan lines. I don't think it's happen. Like said before. You could just darken the skin tone of your avatar if you want to give them a tan. Just remember sunscreen. ;P

I'm personally glad we can't tan, my previous character once reached the darkest skintone and with her blonde hair it looked... weird

But, I mean, if you want a summer tan we still have the option! You can give yourself a tan whenever you want now, which is nice. No trying to avoid the sun for those who want a lighter skin tone, and no sitting in it if you want a darker one!

Aw, I always thought that was a neat little detail, so it’s kind of a shame. It’d be funny if they even introduced the ability to just straight up burn in the summer.

IIRC you could tan in ACGC, but I think it might’ve only been if you visited the island.

I'm glad we can't tan in NH. I always hated how it looked on my character in NL and I always had to wear a hat to prevent the tanning.

I'm actually glad we can't also, but I had the opposite problem: I normally have a darker skin tone, so I hated having to keep my game open for longer than I wanted to play for just to maintain the dark skin instead of my character going back to default light skin when I couldn't play for a while. Nice being able to freely change it to what we want now ^^

i don't think so, but it did add a touch of realism to the game. maybe if there's an island update with kapp'n it could be implemented? (i kind of doubt there will be an extra island tho, given that the game already takes place on an island...lol)

Thanks, everyone. I did darken my skin for the summer. IRL, I never tan, so it's nice to be able to (safely) get one.
