WiiWare updates

So I was checking out Wii Shop Channel and I saw Dr Mario & My Pokemon Ranch had the tab 'Update'. So I click the box and it says 'Update - 0 Wii Points', so I download (short too) and there. I click the box again and all there is 'Gift - 1000 Wii Points'.
So whats up with this? If its not DLC then what? Im suprised there was no message from Nintendo to update my game.

So what you're saying is there was a free update for the WiiWare game, but it's odd that Nintendo never sent a letter to your message board to let you know about it?

This happens with every game. It's most likely fixing some glitches... chances are, you never encountered them in the original version.

@JJHO: Nope.
@SL92: Well... it wasn't a real update. I checked Dr Mario afterwards and there was NOTHING new. Same Classic, VS CPU, and Flash. No new WFC things either. :/
