Why's the 3DS hated so much?

Hated? What?

What? Their first party 3DS outpout has been incredible. Some of their most highly polished games especially compared to the DS. Fire Emblem: Awakening is better than Fire Emblem on the DS. Same thing for Link Between Worlds, Animal Crossing and the others. Their output has been incredible quality wise. 2013 also had some of the most frequent amount of games being released on the 3DS.

Just my opinion. I know Fire Emblem is great, I'm a huge Fire Emblem fan, but imo it could have been better. Same with Animal Crossing New Leaf. They're great games, but they just didn't really cut it for me.

Then there is Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Mario Kart 7, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Super Mario: 3D Land and a bunch of others. Some incredible quality titles right there.

The WiiU is getting all the hate now. I haven't heard anything bad about the 3DS online, in fact, the internet was the reason I bought one in the first place.

I thought that people just underestimated the console at first and the realized that there were some actual good games coming out (such as New Leaf and Pokemon X/Y).

What're people complaining about it now for?

Yea it sucks that the Wii U is getting so much hate :(. It's a nice enough system. One of the complaints I've seen is that it isn't powerful enough and that it needs to be more of a next gen system. As in only being used with a HD tv. Which imho, is kind of silly, since not everyone has one or may be able to afford one. I think it was a smart move by Nintendo to let people use the Wii av cables so they can use the Wii U with their older tvs. It helps so others won't be left out of being able to use the system.

Definitely. And they figure it's for kids (which isn't the case).

Kids are like that. :P

I usually have mine with me. I love taking the train and being challenged to a battle in pokemon.

I haven't seen any hate, save for Smash 3D. And I can understand the complaints, without some kind of external controller or extra pad or something it'll be darnedly impossible to do any serious fighting.

I didn't know that many people disliked it. I think it's more of the issue of having to pay for 3D. I don't know anyone who actually plays with their 3D capability turned on, and I also never turn it on. That's probably why so many people prefer the 2DS, because there is no 3D and you don't have to pay for it. Nintendo has a good variety of games too, that cover a wide range of interests.

1.) I think people don't want to pay so much for a few games that they really want to play and not much else.

2.) The people don't want to admit that they really do want to spend that much money on a handheld.

3.) People don't want to admit that they are going to get a "children's device", and don't want people to judge them.

So pretty much, money, and people judging them/embarrassment (which is nothing to be ashamed of) combined.

I did nothing but complain about the 3DS at launch. :P Original model is a brick, they rushed together an announcement to beat Japanese press, the majority of launch titles sucked, long drought on games.

I don't see much hate for the 3DS itself, personally, and it's currently Nintendo's big seller (has been for like a year or more now). As for people asking for things to come out on different systems, there's a variety of reasons for that. [As it's been said] the Youtube community is full of haters and trolls in general, some people don't like handhelds (I was not a fan of the original DS, personally, but I love my 3DS XL), many people may just not want to dish out money for another platform when they've already spent their budget on another, others still just hate Nintendo nowadays for a variety of reason (some have legitimate complaints, others are just hating because, IDK, hipsters) such as wanting Nintendo to give up their IPs and go the way of SEGA. Most complaints about the 3DS I see are just from people who don't like Nintendo and would prefer their IPs be on other platforms.

Can't "crappy launch titles" be attributed to almost every platform generation ever? There's a decent point to this argument but in [al]most [all] cases this point becomes invalid about a year into said platform's life cycle. It's just I swear I've seen this point against every console ever. *Sigh* I guess it's that kind of repeating problem that's giving the "PC Master Race" type their ammo though.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of Nintendo Handheld systems. No one seems to do them as well as they do. I don't use the 3D feature that much but I don't care. I love that system and the games that can be played with it.
