Why's the 3DS hated so much?

I like the 3DS but i dont like the 3D effects and its would be some mich cool if they had made a 4D and not a 2D because of the smell

I have a 3DS and a Vita...I play the absolute hell out of both! Between the two, you have a massive gaming library.
Nintendo has their staples, and the Vita has PS+ and lots of indie/top tier titles(Child of Light announced for Vita at E3!!!!).
Plenty to play on both!

Yea I see it sometimes over on Playstation's boards... they want Game Freak/Nintendo to have the series over on Sony. Which would never happen, since it's exclusive to Nintendo.
The 3ds isn't a bad system overall. I never understood why people disliked it in the first place, other than the obvious one. Along with the usual excuse of Nintendo just putting out childish games (which isn't the case, since there are plenty of T games and some M rated ones for it out there). So that one is becoming one dead horse being beaten time and time again now.

Definitely. I have a Vita as well as my 3ds and I enjoy playing games on both as well. Only issue I have with the Vita are the memory card prices for the 16gb ones and the 32gb ones. Too dang expensive -_-.
I think it was the price at first. (I bought my 3DS for, what, $360?) Also the lack of games at release. A bad start can mean a rough few years and the need for heavy advertising and new games, quickly.
People are lightening up to the 3DS, but the people that want Nintendo-exclusive games on other consoles need to just shut up and get a Nintendo console. :B The 3DS honestly has a lot to offer and a lot of potential to grow. I would totally love to see a 3DS "lite"; it seems kind of unnecessary but the original 3DS is just a bit bulky in your pocket.
I still get the occasional "You're playing DS?" with weird looks. I blame Nintendo for their horrible advertising; they keep focusing on the effing 2DS and portraying the entire 3DS family as something for younger kids. What's worse is that they show their games in their commercial. It limits them to a younger audience as well as multiplying the comments I get about it.

don't get me wrong, it's great for younger audiences?? but damn they need to focus on all audiences.

Kids are easier to market for ofcourse. Nintendo is a business let's face it they want whatever gives them more profit. Animal Crossing wasn't marketed as heavily towards children also when you think about it and one of the biggest demographics are woman in their 20's. Dat profit margin.
What? Their first party 3DS outpout has been incredible. Some of their most highly polished games especially compared to the DS. Fire Emblem: Awakening is better than Fire Emblem on the DS. Same thing for Link Between Worlds, Animal Crossing and the others. Their output has been incredible quality wise. 2013 also had some of the most frequent amount of games being released on the 3DS.

Same. In my opinion, the 3DS family is shining brighter than any other console at the moment. Aside from stuff people play on the computer/steam, 3DS games are honestly the only released games I'm hearing about lately. Aside from Mario Kart 8.

It would be nice if they wouldn't limit their advertising to just the younger audience. People of all ages use them.

I don't think the prices of the 3ds games are that high, at least by comparison to some of the prices for Wii U games. Some of those are too rich for my blood
. Still planning on getting some of them, but I hope to be able to get them on sale.
