Why were the trees changed in ACNL?

I think these trees looked nicer, they were more realistic and made more impact with the overall look it gave

I understand they probably might not have included them because they were too large, so they'd cause obstruction or issues with seeing behind

but I really liked them more, the game looks completely different in a nice way
do you agree?

same here, i have played animal crossing since the gamecube and acnl is far the best version.. but i do sometimes go back to wils world :3 i love these tress <3

I haven't been back to my old versions since I started playing new leaf last year. I don't think I've really realized this difference. I'm almost terrified to open wild world or city folk at this point, but now I'm curious how it would feel! From your photos, I think I like the new leaf trees better. But that might change if I actually get into the games to "remember" them for myself.

Originally ACNL pictures showed trees like these, but they never made them like that in the game, part of me wishes they put those new trees in the game

Yeah, those trees weren't in the other games, they were what the New Leaf trees were going to look like (but they were changed to what they are now).

I personally like the cedar trees better in those pictures than what we have, but I like the regular trees better in what we have.

Wow, I do like those better actually. At least the height of them. I don't mind the ones we have now though.

When I first saw those pictures, I was horrified. I thought they looked awful. I guess no matter what, not everyone is going to be happy with whatever they chose to put in or take out.
