I have been trying to get specific villagers for a while now. I FINALLY got Lucky, but then I didn't play for a while and he moved again. :( I just don't get it!

Anywho, I want Lucky, Ankha, Ribbot, Drago, Erik, Fauna, Tucker, Hans, Kyle, and Marina. (Although any of the octopi would be fine.) I currently have none.

I hate it when that happens. I finally found Lolly in a campsite, and got her in my town! But then I started playing Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and it took some time to beat the bosses... so after a month she moved. :( But then I went on BellTreeForum and got my dream villager: Rosie. And over time my other dream villagers moved in! :D

Villagers: *Fang, *Diana, *Kiki, *Rosie, *Poppy, Dotty, Bunnie, Jitters, Rocket. *= aquired dreamies

Maybe you should start checking out the Villager Trading Plaza on the website.

Checking in every day will make sure they don't move out. I would be so sad if some of them moved! I can't imagine. But it isn't too difficult to get them back. talk to everyone and then TT ahead two days. if any of them "ping", talk to them. If they say they are moving out then you agree with them. If it is one you don't want to move then disagree! It may take a few times to do this. You can go ahead two days and then back two days and make sure you talk to your favorites every time. It has worked for me but I know a lot of people do it differently. Good Luck!

Have you heard of the 16 villager cycle? You can't get the same villager again until 16 more have moved out of your town. Luckily I haven't had to do it yet, but I know it is very annoying, and it was kind of pointless to have Nintendo add it. I think they wanted people to enjoy a variety of villagers, but it's kind of obvious not many people like variety here, we just want our favorite villagers!

It's not a feature that Nintendo added, it's just how many past villagers the game's memory holds.

I know the feeling. However, if you don't plan on playing for awhile, you can always change the time (Before starting up your town) to the last time you played, and they'll act like it's the same day! Then just TT day by day until you lead up to the present day :)

There should be an option to tell a villager to stay permanently in town, it`s really annoying to make sure no one is moving out and tell them over and over again to stay. I?m sorry you lost your dreamie!

That would go against the point of the game.

It's called Animal Crossing for a reason.

Why?

The game is called animal forest/forest of animals in Japan originally, for your information.

Name or not, the main purpose of this game is not to just keep villagers, it's to see who moves in and out. Like some people, people don't tend to live in their hometown for long. So villagers don't as well. They move from place to place, and villagers can move into another village via streetpass as well. A forest of animals is filled with varieties, and the name Animal Crossing means passing by several other villages, and leaving someday. Just like that saying "Everything doesn't last forever.". Even if we want them to stay, it all has to focus solely on the 16-villager cycle, and the concept of the actual game.

And there shouldn't really be any sass given, since I was trying to prove my point without being rude.

And if you really want to keep a villager, then just play daily for like an hour. Or even thirty minutes. And talk to the ones that you want to keep. Because like friends, if you don't talk to them, they drift away and then disappear into their own void.

Do you say my post is rude? Where?

If players want to keep their favourite villagers, there should be an option to keep them.
There are plenty of players who like to keep their favourite villagers permanently.

But again, it's the concept of the game. I wish that there was too. I really do. Since I know how it feels to lose dreamies. At one point, I had Flurry within my village and wanted to kick them. Ended up kicking Marina and Stitches in the process and restarted everything. And I'm not turning this into an argue thread, because that avoids the main purpose of this thread.

If it would be the concept of the game, we wouldn?t even have the option to tell them to stay at all.

It?s a game and not so much about real life friends.

Then why do you want them to stay? If it's just a game, then animals are just animals. And I was referring to the concept of friendship in general.

But either way, I'm probably done arguing since this isn't my thread.

It's unfortunate that Lucky left your town, but there are those other dreamies that you can chase for. Just keep in mind the 16-villager cycle -- he'll come back.
