Why is my Town green?

The whole town is green, all the trees are greener the grass is too.
I went away for a day and come back and it's like this?

What you're seeing is the visual transition of seasons -- they didn't want the town to suddenly make a drastic change once the new season rolled around, but September is the official start of Fall.

Winter: December, January, February
Spring: March, April, May
Summer: June, July, August
Fall: September, October, November
