Why does everyone hate pears?

I don't really care for pears, oranges, and apples all that much irl so I'd much prefer cherries or peaches as my native fruit since I love to eat them.

Luckily I got cherries as my native fruit!

Because they suck! Cherrys and Apples are my favorites!

Sadly Namek has Pears as a native. I only took the town because it came with TWO of one of the best species in the game! Hippos, specifically Rocco and Bertha.

Well, I have oranges as native fruit and I don't really care, I like pears as well, but I like peaches most. I rather like my oranges because it reminds me of Nami from One Piece~

I wouldn't make such a big deal if I had pears, but they just look strange to me.
What I don't really get is why people don't seem to like oranges. They do look deformed, but I've heard that they're actually designed after a very delicious Japanese fruit. Most people probably don't know that though because they haven't heard it. :c
