Why does every guy say "dude", "man" or "bro"??

I wish I was Manley but unfortunately I hang out with girls always, the guys make fun of me for being gay, it upsets me :(

Being manly isn't everything anyway so don't let it bother you & you can be manly and hang out with girls but most guys aren't manly or anything when they're your age. **** the guys that make fun of you for being gay though, they're just awful

Thanks for the advice :)

I find it cringey at times, but I do say dude. Bro / mate / etc sound kinda douchey and normally I only ever hear them used as a joke

I use those words a lot. It's just to make things be casual. It never bothered me, so...

Well, I'm bi, and I have a lot of friends who are guys as well as girls and neither of them mind what I am. You just have to find friends that accept you for who you are.

I'm a girl and "dude" slips out sometimes. I say "man" when I want to sound hippy-ish, but it's a bit hard. "Bro" is blech.

Do people really get bothered by this? I call people "dude" and "man" whether they're a guy or girl. It doesn't have any significance to it.

If they make fun of you for your sexuality they shouldnt be in your life, because they will continue to it and you will feel insecure about yourself, I hang out with girls more and I'm a male, and I most say they are better company, men annoy me and I am a man, so I I annoy myself and now I'm rambling. Bye. c:

Ehh I'm a girl and I say dude and man (and bro or bruh when I'm joking). You have no reason to be nervous when people say that to you (it probably just means they're comfortable around you) just because you aren't manly. I'm not manly either xD

why do you think its restricted to guys? and why see them as "manley" terms? its hard to take your threads seriously

it's not restricted to guys. my best friend & i call each other dude all the time.

they're embracing their masculinity

nah but seriously it's just a thing that some guys do naturally I guess, like i say "fam" a lot as my thing (I guess???).
