Why does English suck?

"I hate English" they say as they continue to speak in English.

The only reason why English sucked because of Essays and mostly reading. The essays were a pain, but the reading was okay. (Our English Honors teacher wanted us to "understand" the book. Then again, being in 8th grade, I'd have to say English Honors was at LEAST 9-10th grade material. Regular english is SO easy compared to that one class I took. I guess I should be thankful for that SERIOUSLY hard class.
Like others said, it's a mixed bag.
