Why do yoù play?

I've played since the GameCube version, and I've been an avid fan ever since. It's a nice change of pace from the usual RPGs I play. It's relaxing, though stressful at times! I love seeing my town grow and develop and think "remember when this was empty?".
The fact that you can have animal neighbors and customize just about everything, well, that adds to the fun of the game!

i'm not sure if i can describe why i play acnl.. i guess it's the combination of everything you can do in the game! run your own town, customize your player, talk to a wide variety of villagers (that i may or may not get attached to), etc. plus it's often a relaxing game.

The game is super relaxing to me. I just love playing the game. *^O^* and of course the villagers are adorable and I find it cute to form bonds with them. I love playing this game if it were up to me I'd have more than 2 towns haha. I love the slow pace cause while I also love the harvest moon series I would constantly give up tryna to keep up with how quick time goes by in the game.

Cute animals and the freedom to decorate the way I want to. It is a great way to pass time and distract myself.

I play it 'cause it's like a second life. Plus, it's fun to befriend virtual animals who'll always love you and to plan out a town and customize my own home. And it's just relaxing to play after a long day. :P

I tend to play when I have a lot of anxiety irl and a lot of free time too. Im currently unemployed so ACNL is the perfect game for me because it can be really addicting and time consuming if I want it to be. I love that I can never really achieve perfection in a town and I love how everything is customizable and I love that there's a legitimate market for trading items online

Idk when I was 8 the game was displayed in an electronics store and I would play it for hours there before I got it.
I just enjoyed it, and I still do. It just stuck with me.

Pretty much the same reasons why I love this game. Since the original and Wild World, I use to enjoy it mostly because of the villagers and events going on. ACNL was different for me though. I love absolutely love furnishing my home and designing my town. I literally spend hours doing both and being far from perfection only gives me more of a reason to keep playing.

I like games where you can live through your character (mayor) and ACNL is perfect for that. the fact that you can have your own town, home, and villagers makes all of that enticing. plus the villagers are rly cute and I like cute games involving virtual animals. it's also fun and relaxing. my fav villagers make me smile

same, plus i love getting love from my villagers they help me feel better when im sad... ik it sounds stupid but i love them as my own brothers and sisters... and strangely i love my mayor so much that i feel like i am his mom.... (yes i play as a guy)

Good question...as I've achieved most of what I wanted to now. I've completed the museum, which was a big thing for me, got a lot of badges, etc. I think I keep coming back to it because of my lovely villagers. I genuinely think they're all so lovely. It's not my usual type of game, it's a bit slower paced than I'd like sometimes so I do use a lot of tt, but it's so relaxing being able to do it all at your own pace. When I took a break a short while ago I found myself actually missing going on to see how my villagers were doing.

I love it because its so calming and I just love the whole aspect of building a town to perfection. Theres a lot of new opportunities in new leaf and customising a town has never been easier.

i have anxiety and depression and im also a huge perfectionist so i got the game to chill out and make a beautiful town. the game is so relaxing and fun to play, even addicting. It mostly helps me calm down and get out my perfectionism and i love talking to and befriending my villagers. theres always something new to do every day and its just a home away from home that i always feel welcome in

It's kind of like a combination of Xanax and therapy for me. I go through massive bouts of depression and anxiety, so Animal Crossing helps me cope when things get to be too overwhelming and intense.

A game full of adorable and sweet animals that are always happy to see you? Yeah, this game is (unintentionally) very therapeutic.

It's my saving grace. .. because sometimes I get very desperate and lonely and we'll with the help of animal crossing I have felt better
I love playing it and like the idea that we can never achieve that prefer town but the town we create give us life and joy to playing it and best thing you don't have to be a hard core player to play this
Any age and any person could play I'm any way they want
Such give it little by little or up to plan everything ahead
Juts a fun relaxing game.... that has help me calm down

I grew up playing the game, and I loved it as a kid, and I love it now. I guess that's my only reason. I loved the games so much in the past that I always try the new games, and end up loving them too.
