Why Do You Like Who You Like?

So, every so often, you get threads here about why people like this popular villager, or that popular village, or why people like popular villagers at all. And I'm always interested in these threads most when people mount specific defenses of what they like. The reasons people have for liking things, viewed close-up enough to see the different reasons people have, and the different affections people put into the things they like, is really very interesting and sweet. So I figure, why not cut out the middle man? Come tell me who you like, and why you like them. I don't care (by which I mean, this thread does not care) if who you like is the most popular villager ever, or the least popular villager ever, whether there have been no other posts in this thread about why you like them or 100. I think we should all have a chance to talk about the things, in this case anthropomorphic animal villagers, that make us happy.
Who knows? There might even be some interesting things to learn there.

My favorite villager is Walker, cause back in WW he was my longest staying resident, I think he's still in my village actually, from six years ago.

Lucky the mummy dog. He's the only villager I've managed to keep from moving away. I also like Blanche.

My favourite villager is sterling, because he is an eagle and a knight... IF AN EGYPTIAN CAT ISPOPULAR WHY NOT STERLING?!?

I had one villager from each of the previous games that I grew attached to and were my favorite that I wanted to get them back for my New Leaf towns.

In the Gamecube version it was Wolfgang (I had Chief at the same time I had Wolfgang, but for some reason I just grew more attached to him and Chief was just kinda "meh" for me).

Stitches randomly moved into my Wild World town and I became attached to him instantly.

Felicity was a starter in my City Folk town and at first I didn't like the way she looked, I was like "ew what's with your hair?! cats don't have hair like that." Then I grew attached to her too and now I think she's adorable!

I'm always torn of who may be my favorite villager. I find the wolves TOO MUCH CUTE because of their fluffly tails, but I must admit that Julian is also on top of my list. He always says funny things and behave in a funny way too. I love when he calls his home "house of Julian" and stuff like that. Not to mention how adorable this unicorn is.

I personally am in love with wolves that's why I have an all wolf town~
my favorite wolves are Wolfgang and Lobo because they both look adorable and freaking awesome, don't you agree?

Favorite Villager is Rooney.

I mean who doesn't love a cranky blue boxing Kangaroo?

Frita is my favorite and I like her because she is disgustingly adorable. Like a, "I want to gouge my eyes out and never see anything ever again for fear of tainting this image", type of cute. I love the way her little french fries jumble around when she dances... I melt.

Croque. Croque is my absolute favorite.
I didn't have him for long, but we grew
quite close together in the amount of time
that I did have him. I miss him.
I generally find a villager that I like in
each and every town that I have.

I'm really growing attached to Tia.. She was one of my first villagers in my New Leaf town, and I love that she is tea cup themed. I love English tea time! I also think the normal villagers are the sweetest and I love having them in my village.

I need to get Mira eventually; I've never had her in my towns, but I was always a fan of Sailor Venus, AND we share a birthday!, so I'm sure I would love her.

I also like a lot of the lazy villagers because they talk about food a lot =D Also sleeping, another of my favorite pastimes. I like Jeremiah and my brother really likes Bob; I think partially because we've had them early on in our towns in earlier versions of Animal Crossing and because they have cool coloring with big splotches of darker but coordinating colors over one eye. Also, there was a great X Files episode that featured Joy to the World (Jeremiah was a bullfrog...) that holds a special place in my heart and I think the low rumbly sound he makes is a perfect fit for the lazy type.

Static: He was a starter of mine, he didn't come to the train but I saw him walking around town and immediately fell for him... He's my baby now <3
Walker: I had him in WW for a few years and then one day he moved away and I was so upset, then he was in my campsite in NL and I was so excited. Then he was in boxes last February so I cycled (losing 4 more villagers in the process ;-; ) But he is now back living safe and sound. He moved in on Jan 10th 2014 and Jan 10th 2015 too haha...
Henry: In my campsite, fell for him straight away and spent the next hour trying to make him move in - moved out while cycling, hes back now though
Rowan: Starter, also didn't meet me at the station but he really grew on me and now I love him to bits! (also moved out but hes back now)
Fang: I had him a while ago while I was cycling, but as I was cycling I couldn't keep him... I was really upset, but now Pashminas moved out ;-; he can hopefully move back in cuz im not doing any more cycling! Haha
Alice: Hated her to start with - she moved in my flowerbed! I was very angry, and then she asked to leave so I agreed. The day before she was due to be in boxes I changed my mind and we've been insufferable ever since (Even my fave after Stats!)
Lolly: Wifi move in, fell for her badly
Melba: Campsite, thought she was adorable, now she's one of ma besties (and always informs me if someone is thinking of moving!!)
Bree: She was my first cycle villager, I loved her to bits but then she had to leave... I promised id get her back though and I did!
Cookie: Spent 6 hours camper resetting and finally ended up with the cutie!

And now, cuz im still bored, you can have 10 more! Yayyy.......
Diana: I've always loved her, and she was my starter in Sakura so I was over the moon
Wendy: Lived in Paradiso for months, I stupidly let her go, but I managed to get her into Sakura
Fauna: Traded her with Marina, and meant to sell her.... But it never happened.... And wont....
Pekoe: Cutie pie! Had her while cycling and wanted to get her again! Married to the bear underneath...
Stitches: I was desperate for this lil cutie and then I finally got him He and Pekoe are married and have a child together ;-; (Pekoe has a pram with a baby bear inside it in her house)
Erik: Omg I lost 5 Eriks on here before I finally got him I was nearly crying with happiness
Marshal: I hated him ever since I got the game. Him and his stupid popularity being more popular than Static who is so much cuter! And Filbert! And Poppy! And Cally! There's so many cute squirrels why HIM? So I spent 4 hours plot resetting when I was due a smug, as I sold Marshal while I was cycling for 30mil so I planned to make lotsa money!! But he never got put on here... And much like Fauna, never will
Rudy: Hes such a cutie pie I love him, he and Diana are totally dating
Bruce: Hes just so sweet! I love his design ect
Lucky: I had him on my WW along with Walker, after he moved out, so did Lucky, I was so sad I was so happy when I finally got him!

Pashmina: Was one of my perminant residents in Paradiso ;-; waaahhhhhh but she moved out and didn't even say goodbye to her Mayor of (Ig around 4 years and best buddie) I was so upset
Biskit: He moved into my WW when I reset a few months ago and tried to get a great town! Hes the cutest little thing omg
Filbert: I've always loved Filbert for years
Daisy: Was on my WW since I was 6, was on it again when I reset, shes just such a sweetheart
Roald: Starter in my WW I love him to bits
Roscoe: Roscoe moved out of my WW ;-; I was not amused omg ive loved him for forever since he was in my old WW
Bunnie: Starter in my WW shes so cute, ive always liked her design

I love all my villagers, honestly, but my top two is probably Lopez and Cookie. Lopez is the first villager I've ever had randomly pop up in my house, also the one who usually tells me when someone's thinking of moving. I'm hoping to get his picture soon.

I also really love Cookie, she's been with me since I first walked into town and she hasn't left. Sure, she's wanted to move in the past, but she's still here. She's also very cute and happy!!

All my dream villagers are villagers I had in old towns/games and grew attached to, but my favorite villager is Pashmina because
1. She's a cutie
2. I had the high friendship with her in my old town and grew attached to her the most
Luckily, my friend got Pashmina the other day and I'm giving her Genji for Pashmina

I only have one favorite. Lily is because she goes way back to 2002 when I first put this new GameCube game into my system called Animal Crossing. I totally loved her cuteness, and dialect. Too bad Treehouse changed her catchphrase, it was perfect as toady. The rest is history, over a dozen years, and three games, she remains my favorite. My other nine in New Leaf are from being the original five, first to ever move in, the face of doubutsu no mori in Japan, one I had in Wild World, and an uchi because I needed one for PWP's, to go along with Lily who I was very fortunate to have as a camper!

Mott - I actually didn't like him at first. But he grew on me, now he is one of my favorites.
Beau - Random move in. I really loved his cute/sleepy face and personality. He was my first "cute" villager
Fuchsia - I didn't like her at first either. But she grew on me also. I don't think I'll ever let her go.
Diana - I really love her pastel colors and cute design*
Stitches - He is adorable! I love him from the old games also
Marshal - I have an obsession with albino animals irl so of course I love him. Also his tiny jean sweater is so cute!
Kabuki - I adore his design. It really stands out to me. Cranky personality is also a huge plus.
Marina - Love her name. Love her design. Love that she is an octopus!*
Merengue - Rhinos are supposed to be so tough and scary. But Merengue makes them look gentle and sweet.*
Ruby - Again I love albino animals irl. And Ruby is a "true" albino with red eyes and all

Blanche - one of the original five. I love her design! she is the only ostrich I like*
Tutu - one of the original five. never even thought about having her, but she is so cute! like a giant teddy bear
Zucker - a takoyaki octopus... the irony is too big for me not to like him haha
Katt - joked about her being my "dreamie" and she moved in. I adore her now! her face makes me laugh
Pietro - I love how colorful he is, but I wish that he were a lazy villager. Smug doesnt suit his design
Fang - Whats not to love? His design is amazing and cranky is one of the best personalities. Plus he wags his tail!
Whitney - Love her for the same reasons as Fang (minus the personality.) Though I prefer Fang!*

villagers I don't have but love...
Lily - I don't see her around too often, but she is downright adorable!*
Lolly - Incredibly adorable, her eyes look like quotation marks haha *
Ankha - Her design stands out to me a lot. Her and Kabuki are the only ones with "historical" designs *
Julian - The only unicorn in the game! Of course I love his concept
Drago - The only dragon in the game! xD
Genji - Jock is my favorite personality. And Genji is the cutest jock!
Snake - Favorite personality, plus amazing design! Him and Genji go well together
Octavian - love the octopus!


* = I can't stand the snooty personality in New Leaf! This was one of my favorite personalities in Wild World. But in New Leaf it feels so... bland :/

* = I don't like the normal personality in any of the games. They're sweet, but I'd rather talk to villagers who say funny things.

It's Rodeo, unquestionably for me. He was back on my City Folk as an original 6, became my best animal friend, and stuck it out until my disc broke. When I turned it back on, he was gone. I finally got him back and I'm not letting go. Not this time.
