Why do you buy TBT collectibles?

Honestly the only collectable that I care about is the Yoshi Egg and I'll never be able to afford one and no one likes me enough to gift me one :'l

Until about two months ago I'd buy collectibles and leave them hidden, but after the Easter Egg hunt I started showing them. I like how they look. It also shows TBT experience in a way I guess: shows what events you've been around for (or that you've a lot of bells and can buy those old collectibles - but I don't).

I bought 3 Pokemon download codes, and so I want to be ready in case there's an auction/sale for a different game I want when I'm actually online.
