I'm really upset rn??

I bought a bunch of NMT to look for a villager I wanted, but had to cut it short that night. I set the switch back to an hour after I shut it off (and same day) but now someone already has that plot????

Sadly plots can either stay vacant for days on end or immediately get sold out right from under you.

It's a pain in the rear but the 15 day method might help you get that plot back (it's time consuming and involved time traveling but its worth it when the villager you want finally leaves). Also which villager are you looking for? I may either have them on my island or can find them while i'm out hunting right now.

If you've visited someone or they've visited you and they have a villager in their void then they(the villager) will move onto your island if you have an empty plot

Plots will not fill on the one guaranteed day of the plot being empty. It sounds like most likely what specifically happened is the time had progressed naturally and you reset the time but did not close out the game before restarting, in which case I think it does not ‘register’ the time change and initially takes you to real time, which would let the plot auto fill.

You are guaranteed one day with an empty plot, that has not changed - the void won’t override that - and villagers can end up your void regardless of when you visit others, not just when you have an open plot, but it wouldn’t effect the basic mechanics of the game.

I have a card for Kyle! I can move him in and hold him for you if you'd like! That way you don't need to worry too much about getting him! He's one of my favorites too so I totally get wanting to find him as soon as possible.
