Why did or why do you time travel?

I don't really time travel in my main town, unless you count the fact that I keep my time set 3 hours ahead of my real time so everything isn't closed when I finally get around to playing each night. But I have occasionally shifted the time around by a few hours to catch a fish or bug that didn't spawn during my normal play time. Always within the same day, though.

I do have a second town that I'm using as a spare town right now and I time travel frequently in it. I jump forward a month at a time to spawn weeds to help the mayor of my main town get her weeding badge. Plus, I get extra weeding day furniture from Leif if he shows up, too. Once I finish the weeding badge, I'm planning to reset my spare town and make it a legit town that I don't time travel in again.

I don't have anything against time travel for those who do it, but I prefer to play without it.

It saves time for me personally. Sometimes I don't have the patience. At the same time it ruins the experience for me. But I know for a fact I'm going to try my best not to TT in the Switch game.

When I started playing animal crossing I found it to be ridiculously slow and boring, but was terrified of time traveling because I thought it would ruin my town. After I got the hang of it / understood the rules, however, it completely changed the game for me. I'm very much a binge style player where I'll either play for 5-6 hours a day for a month straight or not at all for even longer, and time traveling sustains such a large amount of binge playing. If it wasn't for time traveling, I likely would not enjoy the game much to be honest.
