Eugene just pinged me about him moving on the 1st, I told him no. He really couldn't of told me when I started playing and talked to him? Smugs are shy after all...
They also won't ping you at all if you talk to them while they're inside of a shop, at the museum, their house, or mainstreet. Also, avoid approaching villagers from behind. It's best to walk in front of them before to you talk to them.
Umm, when you continue playing AC and a villager has eye contact with you and they ping its usually about moving out. Unless you're very good friends with them, then its different.
Usually if you talk to other villagers in your town they will bring up the idea that someone in your town might be moving. That's the other way to check rather then wait to be pinged by a villager who wants to move out.
I do hate that. Sometimes they don't ping when I first play, but then they sometimes wait for me to play for a while before pinging about something. It's not always about moving, sometimes it's about either giving me a gift, or that they heard I have an item they want lol
I was lucky this morning; Poncho almost immediately told me that Sylvia was thinking of moving, and the first ping of the day from anyone was her talkin' about the 1st. Her and her odd identical child (that she insists doesn't live with her) are still mine. :I
I try not to talk to my villagers until one of them pings, then it`s easier to find out who could be the mover. If the ping was not about moving out, I talk to them until they tell me about rumours or the possible mover. I try to keep all my villagers for now.
