why can't the animals marry one another???

Ok, I read on the wiki that in Wild World they made some snooty villagers say things about other villagers dating each other and what not. As you can see by City Folk they completely wiped that out. It's a kids game, a game about initiative and fun. I think it's a cool idea and I make fun of stuff like that a lot, but I don't see it happening.

If it did though, I'd say Molly would move in with Cousteau they are always at each others houses and talk about the other. :p

i don't see why everyone saying a kids game and they cant get married?

harvest moon is obviously a kids game as well and the characters do get married.

We are not asking for initmate scenes anyway. And surely kids know that their parents are married? No?

I would prefer an to have a zoning law, where as mayor, you issue zoning permits to decide where animal can put their house.

You could always just imagine your own elaborate back stories for the characters.

I just don't get why you would want villagers getting married? it's just wrong, they're animals not humans :s and i dont see how it could benefit the game in any way? what would be the actual point of it?
What's next, they get divorced when one leaves the town?

I find new leaf to be more of a "Mature Kids Game" if you know what I mean... There seems like there would be to much to do, and kids are impatient... All my friends are 12-35 on AC:NL

So I could see them noticeably LIKING eachother. I think it'd be more entertaining to see how the villagers flirted with one another... :D

I'm impatient and I play animal crossing. :p

There's already enough ship-teasing with the villagers, it's not like it would be necessary to have them married. Besides, that would make the game a bit more weird than it already is.
Bonus: There's also fridge horror to this. Imagine Alfonso having kids with Flo. Nightmare Fuel ensues...
Second bonus: Nintendogs is also a kids game, and the puppies can have umm... puppies? Uh... *head explodes*

I think the most I could be okay with is maybe neighbors becoming roommates sometimes. It would let people see two villagers becoming closer as friends and maybe the house could be two-room, or otherwise bigger.

Also could fuel gossip if they separate; i could see snooty neighbors going "I heard they got in a huge fight over [stupid random food/music/sport reference here]!"

But yeah, I'm glad there is no marriage. Heck, there isn't even dating in here! The most you can get is gossip from other neighbors as they speculate over people's relationships. (I'm starting to think some gossip is true now too! Seeing a lot of different neighbors come to same conclusions about two people!)

This thread just reminded me of a conversation Zell and Lopez had today. Lopez approached Zell and told him he smelled nice. Afterwards they started talking about "being joined by some unspoken, shampooey bond." Then later on, Zell was like "W-wait. Hang on! It almost sounds like we've become an old married couple or something!" Lol.

Tbh, Monty and Baabara are dating in my game. They always gift each other stuff and whenever they talk to each other, they end up really happy. I listened in on one of their conversations and apparently Monty had given Baabara a flower and she loved it.
