I was at Target picking up a few things for my kitchen. I happened to walk by the amiibos. They had no cards but they actually had two Zelda amiibos. Usually I never see the zelda smash amiibos in stores by me. Idk why. So I impulsively bought it because I want w. link to be my smug. Like...lol. it's not even a logical decision. Oh well!
Why can't I control my amiibo impulse?

I want all the AC figures. I was tempted to buy some on Amazon, but just put them on my wish list until I get some extra money. I know how you feel. I have amiibo on the brain these days.

Same but I have a Walmart with stashes of series 1 and 2 here. The stores by me usually only sell Skylanders, mario, and animal crossing amiibo figurines so I was lucky to find a splatoon one earlier and now I finally found a zelda smash figurine. It's just luck after going to different stores. I am in a city, though, so I have the ability to check many stores all in my area

I am too. Its just surprising to me, none of the gamestops near me carried series 4 of the amiibo cards. THe only place I can get them is Toys R Us.

I never had any interest in collecting amiibo until the Welcome Amiibo update. Back when they were first announced with the Smash ones I thought "well I guess it'd be cool to have maybe Samus, Fox, and Link at the very least..."
Other than that it looked like an expensive hobby to me that I'd rather not get sucked into. I collect a lot of figurines but something about the amiibo deterred me massively, probably because I didn't have any compatible games for them at the time. Then this update happened. I've already dished out some bucks to get 4 amiibo cards, the Sanrio pack, and a Monster Hunter amiibo releasing next month from Japan. Now I just need to keep reminding myself "no more". No. More.
Isabelle's amiibo is so cute tho...

Yeah I like the villagers I have. I may buy a pack or 2 of the welcome amiibo cards but that'll be a choice I need to make soon to pre-order lol. Only because my current welcome amiibo villagers were adopted and not permanent.
Yeah, the tricky thing about these sorts of things is that you need to act fast and preorder like you said. If they're anything like the other cards they'll probably go fast, then you're left at the cruel, cruel mercy of scalpers lol. Whitney is impossible to find for a good price now. :c
Really? I got Whitney in a pack I bought like 2 days ago from the Walmart with the stash.
I mean as an individual card, which is to be expected. For some reason the packs of cards are about ?5 here in the UK. For three cards per pack I don't think it's worth gambling so I more or less resigned myself to just trying to get lucky with the single villagers I want online. Saves myself any potential disappointment. XD

I was already collecting the Amiibo cards because of Happy Home Designer (I should probably get a card album soon...it's getting messy). I'm also getting really into the figures thanks to this new update, though! I only have two Amiibos right now, but it's tempting to buy more (and I probably will buy more!). So many retailers do price matching, so that's a bonus, too! I really don't think it's an issue as long as you stay within your means. Non-essential purchases are fun as long as you're not getting into any money troubles because of them. : ) Enjoy your Amiibos!
Lol! We're amiibo freaks!!! We have all the AC ones (including originL villager), I just ordered Callie and Marie set, and we have the original 3 of those as well, all 3 little yarn yoshis, all the Zelda (except the preorder ones), only have toad from mp series, most of the smash series (missing wiifit, Robin, Ike, dedede, metaknight, gold and silver Mario, Lucina, and the red r.o.b). Gotta preorder some of these Zelda guys for sure. Plus I have the 1st 400 (+3) cards. My favs are Timmy/Tommy, Celeste, Lottie, wolf Link, villager, Rosalina (stood at the target doors at 8 am for that one) and gold megaman.

The past is obdurate
It's addictive....I set out to only finish my Zelda collection, ended up with splatoon and 4 AC amiibos as well. Plus all the welcome amiibo cards I'm buying. They're slowly coming back in stock on Amazon and game, the whole country sold out within a week.
Going to keep trying until I get all/the majority as I want the new items as well as the option to have the villagers
