Why as this game so freakin ANNOYIBNG

OK SO
I DECIDE TO GIVE MY VILLAGERS nice GIFTS (Iron wall lamps)
but i don't have enough iron... so i hit some rocks... can't find on of em, and they give me hardly any iron at all... (i did get a gold nugget tho, and i learned a new diy from it for whatever reason, ill probably never craft it tho cuz it's ugly lOL)
So I go to a mystery island (2, actually) to harvest some crap.
The first one i go to has a nice amount of rocks and a pleasant layout... but im an imbecile so i forget my vaulting pole. of course.
SO I use my axe to chop some trees and get some softwood which of course i didn't have on me cuz WHO CARRIES SOFTWOOD AROUND
AND first thing that happens is i get stung by wasps (is it just me, or is the wasp spawn rate waaaaaaaaaay higher on mystery islands? probably just me)
Anyway i FINALLY GET ENOUGH softwood and blah blah i harvest all my rocks ~ it's still not enough so i go to a diff island and luckily its bamboo. so i FINALLY have all my iron wall lamps.
then i get home and start gifting them. but of course my villagers decide to play hide-and-go-seek so i have to track several of them down.
and not to mention, AGNES AND CURLOS DECIDED IT'D BE HILARIOUS TO SIT AT THE KK SLIDER CONCERT FOR A FRIKIN HOUR sOOO I had to restart the game so they'd get their fat butts OFF THE CHAIRS so i can finally gift them

The whole process took an hour and i got a bunch of garbage in return (wall papers, clothes repeats, furniture repeats) nOT a SINGLE pic
Anyway

anything in this game that bothers you? please go into livid detail and feel the stress melt away ~~~~

I feel much worse for you simply because they won't even display the lamps. I mean...great if you're just wanting to farm pictures without messing up their houses I suppose but oof. That's rough.

You should try wrapping 2 non-native fruits and giving that instead of the wall lamps since it’s easier to obtain and it doesn’t mess up their house! I’ve gotten 4 pics this way

Yeah the rng with villager pics is really annoying in this one I ended up tting a month day by day to get Rosie’s pic

Also the wasp rate is higher on mystery islands because on islands with hardwoods and cedars included in their spread (which means bamboo/sister fruit islands are excluded) you are guaranteed to have one wasp nest. You are also guaranteed a piece of furniture from a tree on those same islands.

I also have no luck when it comes to getting any pics from my villagers, even if I give them all kind of random junk where I think it would look nice on them or inside their houses. The RNG sure sucks at this point.

i didn't even know they can play hide and seek in this game, i've only ever gotten the "find the hidden gift"-game...
